I was referring to the antiquated term "mongoloid" that Rick mentioned in his post. The term in the episode bothered me as well. That is a comletely different subject than the heinous murder of a newborn, that was the focus of the episode.

I agree, but with this old of a series taking on cotrvesial issues, you have to expect that some of the terminology and language will be dated and inacurate and even the science can be wrong.

I agree with most of that. I do think that series that are not available in any way, but have equal or more demand should take presidence. Also any series that has more fans willing to be "activist" in their support of the series should factor that into the decision making model.

One thing I have not seen mentioned is Crowed Funding The Defenders. I personally would be willing to buy around 5 to 10 copies of The Defenders The Complete Series if offered in a 500 or so limited run for $150 a pop. Give it to us for six months then do an unlimited run in any way they like.

The big difference in my mind between Ironside and Defenders is that Ironside has been syndicated for years, while Defenders by and large has not been seen since it originally aired.

As well as Star Trek, Bonanza, pretty much all westerns really, hmmm I can't think of one drama that was an exception, except maybe Perry Mason? Did Perry have comedy episodes? Also, I don't see this as a bad thing necessarily. I kind of like seeing serious actors and shows experiment with...

I was thinking the same thing, and seeing these shows helps me empathize with Robert Reed's acting frustrations being tied to the Mike Brady character for the rest of his life.

7/10 Another nice episode, agree with all of your comments. The ending is unrealistic for the series, but nicely done for what it's worth.

6/10 for me I believe this is the pilot for the series, if you don't count the Defender as the pilot. Not many series surpass their pilot in quality. I think they found a more controversial strategy that served to make future episodes more impactful and better for the audience to wrestle...

I love all three. I'll even go so far as to say I love many, many television westerns, but to me the radio versions of GUNSMOKE, THE SIX SHOOTER, FORT LARAMIE, FRONTIER GENTLEMAN, LUKE SLAUGHTER OF TOMBSTONE, and HAVE GUN WILL TRAVEL are the most entertaining western series in any format!
