I bought all the In The Heat Of The Night DVD sets at a used DVD store a few years back. As I recall, there were about 25-28 missing episodes (of the total 146 episodes). I ended up recording the missing shows off WGN, so I would have them all. I remember some of them were excluded due to music...
Was in my local Walmart today. Seems Paramount has released a Criminal Minds: Seasons 9-12 set and a Gunsmoke: Seasons 8-9 set. Each are priced at $39.99.
Agreed. Tried to deal with them a long time ago on a project I was assisting with, and they were most uncooperative, and came up with crazy prices. So, the project died.
While I would prefer to have remastered 50-minute episodes of Barnaby Jones, VEI was not offered such materials from CBS. Instead, the majority of these episodes are 46:10 syndicated versions. I enjoyed the series as a kid, because I love Buddy Ebsen, and I love crime drama series. I finally...
While The Andy Griffith Show and Gomer Pyle, USMC are properties of CBS/Paramount, Mayberry RFD belongs to Warner--and I have kept hoping Warner would release Season 2 and 3 thru Warner Archives.
Hey Randy,
Actually, I picked up Green Acres: Season 4 at Walmart for $14.99 about three weeks before the official Shout release date. And most of my Walmarts still have it on the shelves, next to the complete series for $69.99. So, if you live in an area with a Walmart, you might take a look...
I, too, am a collector of Holiday specials and TV episodes. For years, I would scour listings and record them on VHS. There was something fun about eventually having a marathon of viewing with holidays episodes from Hazel, Bewitched, Burns & Allen, Jack Benny, Mary Tyler Moore, Bob Newhart Show...
I am on my third DVD recorder--obviously I was a frequent user! I used to burn lots of live music programs, classic music series like Hee Haw, Porter Wagoner, Pop Goes the Country, and older tv sitcoms that were actually aired uncut during special events. My cable receiver tends to scramble most...
I also took advantage of the VEI Black Friday sale to order Barnaby Jones. Loved it, and all the detective shows as a kid. I ordered the larger set for $69 (cheaper than Amazon or DeepDiscount). I was simply afraid of the condensed set that goes from 45 discs to 30 discs--that just seemed like a...
I, too, was prompted by the good prices and free shipping from VEI for Black Friday. I ordered Cannon, Barbaby Jones (larger set), and Grace Under Fire (larger set). Wanted more, but the budget would not allow--and those three were the biggest price reductions from the series I wanted. And I've...
Hit my local Costco this afternoon. They had about 10 copies of Spider Man, lying flat on the table. And they had a free-standing cardboard display for Cars 3-- $19.99 for the DVD/Blu combo.
Yes, that is correct. My nearest Walmart only offered the CSI: Miami Seasons 4-6 set. That same Walmart only has the original Hawaii Five-0: Seasons 5-8 set. That's odd to me that they would only be selling "middle-of-the-series" sets.
For those interested, today Amazon has
Streets of San Francisco: The Complete Series for an incredible low price of $39.26--which is what Walmart sells the Season 1-3 partial set for currently.
I completely agree Mike. Two years ago, my closest SuperTarget had two double-sided aisles of CDs, plus endcaps. Today, it is half of one side of an aisle. AND they have cut the DVD/Blu section in the past few weeks by a full aisle. There has been no expansion at my closest BB, but no reduction...
My nearest SuperTarget just cut an entire aisle from their DVD/Blu section last week. But, oddly, Walmart seems to be keeping things the same--for now.
Just got home from shopping at my Costco in Raleigh, NC. The piddly selection they had two weeks ago has been reduced to only 2 titles--the new Spiderman and the live-action Beauty & The Beast, with only 10 copies of each. Meanwhile, they had probably 50 different selections of audio books. So...
I have probably 8 Walmart stores within a 10-mile radius. Each one seems to stock completely different offerings (after the standard new-release section). One of them NEVER has any of the CBS box sets. And the ones that do have those sets usually never have more than three copies of a specific...
From Paramount/CBS, today Walmart also had:
NCIS: Seasons 9-12
CSI: Seasons 1-4
CSI Miami: Seasons 4-6
Gunsmoke: Seasons 5-7 (guess they went with just 3 seasons since Season 7 begins the hourlong eps.)
Was glad to see the continuation of NCIS and Gunsmoke.
From other distributors, they also...
At Walmart this morning, I saw several of these Paramount sets:
The Love Boat: Seasons 1-3 for $39.99 (that's all that has been released in this series)
CSI-Las Vegas: Seasons 1-4 $39.99
Father Dowling Mysteries Complete Series for $19.99
and multi-season sets of Numbers, Streets of San...
Ron,
Living in a city with a BJs, Sam's and Costco, there are lots of offerings. Costco was the last to enter the market here. I prefer BJs for the price And quality of the meat--and they actually will cut meat for you. BJ's also has a deli counter where they slice meat and cheeses, which gives...
I dropped my Sam's membership when they stopped carrying DVDs/Blu-rays and CDs.
And oddly, while Costco keeps cutting their shelfspace for movies and TV, BJ's Club has maintained their stock--two full racks (probably 200+ titles). They have pretty good prices on older Paramount single season...
Well, according to Warner Archive Collection's Facebook page, another series has been released--"Chuck Norris: Karate Kommandos--The Complete Series (1986)"
Unfortunately, it is another one I have ZERO interest in owning. (Since I am not a fan, I have no idea if this has been previously...
Would love to see a release for "When She Was Bad," a 1979 TV movie starring Cheryl Ladd and Robert Urich as a young couple who move to a new area for Urich's job. Ladd's character is secretly taking out her stresses on their young daughter. The movie also features Eileen Brennan, Dabney Coleman...
Not "vintage" H-B, unless you are young enough that 1991 is vintage, but this popped up on the Warner Archive page in the middle of the night. I remember seeing a few episodes of Pirates of Dark Water, but not sure I need it in my collection...
