Guess I'm out of luck, then. My TV is a 720p Panasonic (it has been a reliable set, and still delivers a good picture). It does have HDMI input with option of 720 or 1030p, but that probably won't work. But thanks for your help.
I have been waiting decades for a video release of this film, and when it finally shows up it's on a 4K disc (with IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT/Columbia Classics 3) I can't afford to buy a new 4K TV and player just to watch this film. Now there's a n HD scan, so *please* give us a Blu-ray, even if...
Why am I not finding GLORIFYING THE AMERICAN GIRL on Kino's website? It's still on the schedule at the beginning of this thread for 12/3, and Amazon is showing the same date, so why isn't it up for pre-order at Kino's site? Did I miss an announcement of a delay?
I beg to differ. I looked in both the announcement and "Sweet Charity thread" forums before I posted. The only recent updates were about Amazon pricing. But now it *is* in this forum in the on-going posts, where I would argue it should have been *when it was changed*.
Although I didn't find an announcement of SWEET CHARITY being postponed to August 20 in this list, it *has* changed in the "Coming" section on the first page, as well as at Amazon. No comments about it here, either, but those looking forward to this release should be aware.
I'm still waiting for Paramount to replace its lousy Blu-ray of FUNNY FACE with the beautiful HD transfer that was on one of the satellite movie channels.
There's a discussion of the "missing print" in the thread about the film's restoration in this Forum, and here:

Thanks to MrLime and others to the ANYTHING GOES/TOPS IS THE LIMIT questions.
Certainly, the fact that the TOPS IS THE LIMIT TV release opens with the MCA logo is the strongest evidence that Universal owns the film. Perhaps because of the alternate title, that studio doesn't realize what it...
Regarding the 1936 Paramount film ANYTHING GOES (a.ki.a. TOPS IS THE LIMIT):
MrLime: Respectfully, is there someone at Paramount you could at least ask if the studio retained rights or if they are held by Universal? I was told by a person with a relationship to Paramount that they did, but it...
With Kino's deal with Paramount, I'm wondering if they can shake loose the 1936 ANYTHING GOES (re-titled TOPS IS THE LIMIT), co-starring Bing Crosby and Ethel Merman (recreating her Broadway role). I thought this film belonged to Universal, with it buying Paramount's library. But I was told...
