Does anyone know when this film will be released on BD, etc. I thought it played in theatres earlier this year, but then again, maybe not. I'm retired and don't go out to the movies anymore. Comments?
Hello. Does anyone know where I can still purchase a fluorescent bias light? I have been using an 18" bulb (tube) on a shelf behind my plasma TV for many years and I purchased this from Cinemaquest in 2015. They specialized in this type of lighting, but I think they have gone out of business...
I'm aware of this, but unfortunately, it's a non-anamorphic, non widescreen DVD. The BD I have is a Twilite time release, but all copies are now sold out.
Does anyone have an extra copy of this movie they would be willing to sell? I recently discovered that the copy I had purchased from Amazon several years ago would not play back, due to a defect on the play side. Unfortunately I found this out long after the return window had expired. This...
One movie which hasn't been mentioned which Ms. Lansbury starred in was the 1954 comedy "The Court Jester" in which she co-starred with Danny Kaye and Basil Rathbone. She played the kings scheming daughter who was always threatening to "throw herself off the highest turret" if she didn't get...
I also own a Pioneer Plasma "Monitor" 60 inch, which I purchased in 2009. I have had it ISF calibrated twice and the picture still looks great. So good, in fact, that I refuse to purchase anything else until it "bites the dust." I'm not a fan of these so-called "Smart TVs" either. Too many...
I just received my new BD copy of "Jurassic World: Dominion" and was wondering about the extended version of the movie. Should I watch it first? And, what does the extended version add?
Back in the Day, with the film release of the original "Jurassic Park," the theatres playing it in DTS digital sound, played the soundtrack on a digital disc which was in sync with the film, since there was a timecode printed on the film, thus allowing synchronization. I always felt that this...
Dave: Are your A-7's of recent vintage? I owned a pair of A-7-500's way back in the seventies, but they needed a lot of HF EQ to sound their best. I didn't know Altec was still around.

This restoration of the other of the 2 Cinerama features which actually told a story is indeed a miracle! The awesome David Strohmaier, Tom March and all the countless others who were involved in this monumental project will surely go down in Cinerama history as the ones who did the impossible...
Very glad to hear that. I had a souvenir book back in the day when I worked at the Uptown Cinerama but it got away from me somehow, over the years. Can't wait for the end of March to get here so that Amazon can send me my BD. I'm expecting AWESOME!!!
If you like your Pioneer RPTV, why not try an upgrade (if you can find one) to a 60" Pioner plasma which has been well-cared-for. I purchased mine in 2009 and am still enjoying it in my home theatre. I don't plan on replacing it until it goes dark. It still has a great picture!
I placed my "Pre-Order" with Amazon for Grimm a couple of days ago, but I have a question. Overall, I think the total price came to $33 or so, which included tax and "$5.50" or so for shipping. Normally, however, I usually purchase enough items to qualify for free shipping. Is that not...
OK. I'll take everyone's advice and go with Amazon. Just happened to "stumble" on the TCM site, but I really didn't see a note that they were "closing their doors." Oh well. Hoping that the end of March gets here quickly. BTW, does anyone besides me have the LD of "Grimm?" It doesn't have...
I have noticed that the TCM store is now taking pre-orders. Is that a reliable source to buy from? Normally I always purchase my movies from Amazon, but waiting for them to begin taking pre-orders is making me nervous. What do you guys think?
Roland: Thanks for all those newspaper ads and the release list! They all brought back a lot of memories. And those ticket prices...mercy! Today they probably would have been over $20! Hoping to pre-order the BD, whenever Amazon opens up the pipeline. Know of anyone else who might be...
Roland: Thanks so much for posting this article! I was trying to remember exactly when "Grimm" opened. You must have quite a collection of articles such as this. Good job! I will always remember my days spent working at the Uptown, which BTW was built, I believe, in the 1930's or so. It...
All I can say is "Long Time Coming!" I was a Junior in high school and working as an usher/doorman at the Uptown Cinerama in Wichita, Kansas in 1962 when this wonderful release premiered. What a fantastic experience this was for everyone who experienced it in the Glory of Cinerama!! David...
Roland: BTW, not sure if you know this, but the totally restored Cinerama negatives from "Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm" are to be released on BluRay "Smilebox" late this Spring or early Summer, to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the movie's release. The BD was supposed to be...
