I did indeed get the AVR complete with the remote. I'd prefer to get these to save some time before i had to add a sub http://www.amazon.com/Sony-SS-B3000-Bookshelf-Speakers-Black/dp/B000OG6I6A/ref=pd_tcs_compl_e_8?ie=UTF8&refRID=0B7KDWVFDX9TJ2TX862Q, fits my price range and seems like a decent...
I'm confused, i looked it up and you're right. I can take a picture, it definitely is much larger than that. I picked it up at a Salvation Army where a friend of mine works and the sticker on the back of the TV had that model number.
The model number is CT-35G25B
I'm gonna go ahead and buy the Onkyo 605 since it has the Legendary hook ups i need, and HDMI so i can continue using it after this thing kicks.
Do you have any tips or suggestions for the speakers or anything else i'll need? Do i need any extra wiring or cords...
Everything is becoming clearer, i appreciate your help.
Ok, so say i settled on the Onkyo 605, looks nice enough and has both DD and DTS. I believe it has legendary inputs correct? Obviously it has HDMI to, so when this TV goes, i can continue using this on a modern widescreen. I like that...

Is this pre 2009? It definitely has HDMI, but does it have Legacy Inputs?

Upon doing some more research, Home Theater in a box is the term you were using, apparently in a derogatory way too lol. I guess it's the equivalent of a TV Dinner. What does already having a DVD player do for me right now though? Does my DVD player act as my Set Top Box the same way i presuming...
What piece of equipment will i need to ensure has DD (Dolby Digital?) and DTS capabilities, i'd like to be able to enjoy both. Plenty of my Disney DVDs have DTS, so it's relevant to me.
I'm more of a noob that you know you i think! This is literally my first time looking at home theater audio equipment. I picked up a 60 inch TV for 10 bucks that was good as new and need a decent stereo system for it.
I'm trying to understand what you're saying, but it's a new language. What is...

I'd like to purchase a set that comes with everything included that will hook right up to my DVD player or Satellite box.
Will be DVD and satellite player have all of the hook ups for this...
I have a pretty nice $50 Sony DVD player, what does it need for me to be able to hook these things up specifically though?
Can i please get a link to a T-Amp and Speaker set you would recommend? I'd be very grateful for the help!

Yea this thing definitely isn't an HD TV, of any kind. I'm just looking for a passable audio experience in my rec room.
There were HD TVs back in 2002, news to me, i was only 14 at the time.
I just picked up a 60'' or so Panasonic TV that is about 12 years old, a box TV to be specific.
Anyone have any ideas on moderately priced surround sound setup i could use for this TV in my mancave?*Edit* I'm looking for a 2.1 set-up, cheap but efficient.
What brand would be best for...
I've been reading alot of reviews and articles on Disney's restoration of classic animation for Blu Ray and home means of home video. While reading through these pieces, i especially became interested in the change in color which is sometimes dramatically different from what we're used to seeing...
I just bought an Sony BDP-S100 at Best buy and soon realized i had no idea how to hook it up on my ancient 4:3 box tv. It's an old Sylvania i believe, definitely no HDMI!
What are my options for running this thing? Is there a converter or certain cable that would allow me to hook this up?
