    Spdif soundbar issue

I did install a real 5.1 system in my old house and certainly there is no comparison. However, when I tested out the YAS-203 in Best Buy, it did produce similar effects. I was able to hear an object go past my head, which for $250 is impressive. I just don't want to lose the ability to...

    Spdif soundbar issue

The 207 only goes down to 40 Hz, the 203 goes down to 35 though. How noticeable would that be? I feel like it could make a big difference.

    Spdif soundbar issue

Didn't even know about the 207, that could definitely solve my problem. It looks way more advanced too! Thanks for the help

    Spdif soundbar issue

Well I really like the sound quality from the Yamaha. I was just wondering if there was any workaround. I was thinking of a hdmi and optical audio extractor but I couldn't find one that did 4k pass through

    Spdif soundbar issue

The soundbar does not have an HDMI input, sorry that I didn't make that clear. It only has spdif and analog

    Spdif soundbar issue

Hi all, My roommate just bought a sceptre 4k UHD TV. Obviously it's a cheap tv so it doesn't have that many features. I want to buy a soundbar for it, and was looking at the Yamaha YAS-203. Since the Yamaha doesn't have an HDMI input though, I'd have to use the SPDIF output from the TV to the...

5.1 or 5.2 for this difficult room

All of the speakers I have now are from the Yamaha NS-SP1800BL package. What should I set the crossovers at on those speakers? I was thinking of maybe getting JBL lofts for the center and fronts. They're in my price range. I'd like to spend no more than $250 on a sub and $80 for fronts and...

5.1 or 5.2 for this difficult room

Since cost is a huge factor, would getting a better center channel and a new sub be the best route? I'd love to get some of those subs listed, but won't be able to spend that much. And I'll see if I can set the crossover lower for the satellites and center channel.

5.1 or 5.2 for this difficult room

Hello, I have a pretty cheap setup, Denon E300 receiver with some basic Yamaha 5.1 speakers. I know I need to upgrade the speakers, and I was hoping to start with a sub upgrade. My current sub is an 8" 100W, not very powerful for the size room I have, and it's quite muddy. Due to my room...

Low budget HTIB decision (so cliche)

Just saw that the Onkyo has separate woofers and tweeters in the center speaker, and has 400 more watts total. Its on sale for $230...whadda think?

Low budget HTIB decision (so cliche)

Yes that does look better, unfortunately I only have 5 inches of clearance for the center speaker :(

Low budget HTIB decision (so cliche)

I'm using a LG 42" LCD. It depends on your definition of good...right now I have a Bose Wave radio for sound, so one of these systems would sound more than good to me. I really don't have more than $300 to spend (college student).

Low budget HTIB decision (so cliche)

I am between the Yahmaha YHT-497 5.1 system and the Onkyo HT-S5500 7.1 system. I can get both of them for around $300 refurbished, but my question is, which one will provide a better experience? I have a long room, probably 40 feet by 20 feet. Here are the links...

    Add Subwoofer to Basic System

Isn't the s5500 7.1 though? Would the S6500 be a good choice? I want it to sound great, but not break the bank.

    Add Subwoofer to Basic System

Thanks. Would it be worth maybe going with something like this instead? http://www.amazon.com/Onkyo-HT-S3500-5-1-Channel-Theater-Receiver/dp/B0077V88V8/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1377114654&sr=1-1&keywords=5.1+home+theater+system

    Add Subwoofer to Basic System

Hi All, We have a Bose Wave Radio that we are using for our HDTV, which provides adequate sound. I would like to somehow add a subwoofer, though, as I am a bass-lover. Is there a relatively inexpensive way to do this? You can probably tell I am a newbie :D Thanks
