Actually, that was the A&E *DVD* version (all editions, incl. 2009/final editn) --- although, as ScottRE said, two of the episodes remained in incorrect order.
THe big question is will the episodes be presented in the fan--preferred *chronological* order (or atleast a close approximation of this) or in the order of their original UK/Australian(?) airing?
The Network Blu-ray releases had them in the UK broadcast order.. Don't know about the U.S. A&E...
I'm sure you're right about the hardcore fans. I'm also (very) sure I wouldn't want/have wanted to cross paths with either Hauer or Bean's versions of "John Ryder" in real life.. :>]
For a while, around 2010--2011, there was serious buzz about a high-budget sequel being produced in which Sarah Miles was to reprise her role. It obviously never happened and now Ms. Miles is long since retired.
It would seem the best chance this film likely has (barring a sudden major...
Assuming no one has done such a list (I couldn't find one), how many films can you think of wherein the opening theme or song begins playing over the opening studio logo/s in place of the usual fanfare or silence (*Not counting those in which the logos' appearance is significantly altered or...
I'm hopeful the recent reissue of THE THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR ('68) on Blu-ray is selling well so that perhaps a 4k release might finally happen -- and if it does, I (+ I'm sure I speak for many) would really like to see the orig. late--'60s UnitedArtists opening logo restored to the film (the...
I agree that would've been nice.. While every label is different, ofcourse, there are major/ higher--end publishers that won't put subtitles or CC on *ANY* of their bonus features (incl. full-length alternate versions of films), so it sadly seems unlikely a low/mid--range label like VEI would do...
I know four films I *definitely* would be interested in seeing --- on 4k UHD (or atleast 4k--remastered on Blu ray), that is: Help!, Yellow Submarine, Magical Mustery Tour, and Let It Be!
There has yet to be a DVD, Blu ray or UHD release that uses the original poster artwork as cover art (at least in North America). In fact, the last time such artwork was used for any home video release of the Bond films -- not counting P. Brosnan and D. Craig films -- was over *30* years ago...
Assuming you refer to the "Octopussy" Rykodisc cover, that is the same artwork which adorned the 1996 "James Bond Collection" VHS and laserdisc editions of the films (which would be the final editions of the Bond series for both formats).. MGM/UA later adapted the "JBC" cover art designs for DVD...
If nothing else, the two '50s theatrical films (which are included in that set) "The Lone Ranger" and "The Lone Ranger & the Lost City of Gold" starrng Moore and Silverheels really should get a restoration and Blu ray release. As both Classic Media and rights to The Lone Ranger franchise itself...
If Arnold ever manages to get his "King Conan" film made, there ought to be a scene early or semi-early in the new movie that mirrors Thulsa Doom's intro scene from the first film -- in this case it would be Conan's entrance -- as a little hat tip to CTB cinematographer the late Duke Callaghan...
Was hoping The Lion In Winter would get a UHD release (ideally via Kino) by its 55th annivrsary last year, but I realise now an all--new scan if not an extensive restoration may be needed for that to happen.
Hoping for a decent month this time! There are so many great films out there whose only/best hope for a quality HD or 4k physical release is Criterion.
I don't own the book so I didn't know it was 400+ pages. Any such book included *in* a (conventional size/shaped) Bluray set would most likely be a specially produced mass market--size ppb edition.. if not the complete book, then perhaps a condensed version, or just a booklet with an excerpt or...
Wish they could have done smth like include a souvenir episode guide - or better yet license the "Columbo Phile" or other existing behind-the-scenes volume for inclusion with the package (such as Image did with the "TheTwilight Zone" Season 1 DVD back in the day) to make up for the loss. Sure...
Maybe they should.. (but probably they won't). Arrow typically does not release films like PT&A.. Not "genre" enough. Besides that, I highly doubt Paramount would dream of licensing out such a perennial cash-cow. The best chance this film has of getting a remaster is, ofcourse, the fact...
Which trailer are you referring to? There are two trailers (that I'm aware of): the teaser/advance trailer and the regular theatrical trailer.. I'm partial to the teaser trailer, which BTW was a mystery all by itself: One doesn't even know its a Poirot film until its nearly over, as Branagh...
