Well, I think I'm going to go ahead and get the 3500. The other systems mentioned are really outside of my budget, and since this is being used in a small room and I don't need it to be super loud, it sounds like the passive subwoofer will work out alright. Really appreciate your advice, guys!

Would the 5500 have immensly better sound quality, or is it more a matter of how loud it can get?
