    Belden 1800F Balanced cables

I'm going to make some balanced cables for my EMO amp to preamp with some Belden 1800F I have. I purchased some Neutrik XX series XLR's that I have used in the past with other balanced cable. I noticed that the belden has Positive, negative and ground along with the braid. Not used to this. Do I...

    Need iPod/iPhone Dock recommendations

I'm looking for a digital dock that will work on two of my older receivers. I would like it to have analog options as well. My newer one uses air play so I'm good there. My iPods and iPhones all have Bluetooth. The two older units do have digital TOSLINK or digital coaxial inputs. They don't...

    Belden 5101ue

Maybe I have the terminology wrong. I enjoy assembling cables. Taking the time to create speaker cables, tinning the ends with silver solder, terminations too if wanted, using techflex and some nice colored shrink tubing to give them a professional look.

    Belden 5101ue

Yes. About 1500'. Was considering making some DIY and maybe even selling some DIY. I enjoy making it. What are your thoughts on performance? Any comparisons? I have no experience with speaker cables. I really want to do some DIY that performs nicely compared to the more expensive commercial cables.

    Belden 5101ue

Is this a recommended cable for speaker wiring? I know this is audio cable and I understand that the 3 conductor would involve twisting two of the conductors (white/red) and tinning them to make the positive lead.Is there any other cable recommended for a higher quality DIY speaker wire?Thank you

    Belden 1801B 110 OHM applications

Can anyone comment on the applications that Belden 1801B can be used for? I know this is Single Pair 24 AWG stranded (7x32) tinned copper conductors, plenum, foam FEP Teflon® insulation, twisted pairs, overall Beldfoil® shield (100% coverage), 24 AWG drain wire, Flamarrest® jacket.I believe it...

    Belden 1505A interconnects

Hello everyone. I have been making Belden 1505A RCA interconnects for a few months now and I'm really enjoying it. It has been a nice hobby for me. Just a question on applications. I'm assuming the most car audio signal is still driven by RCA's. if it is still then would the Belden 1505A cable...

    Belden 1505F for IC's

Great comments! Thank you. I'm currently using 1505A and playing around with options. I have two questions. #1 Am I doing damage to the cable when I cut off lengths with a pair of diag cutters? It seems to pinch the cable and I'm uncomfortable with that. I know this cable is sweep tested by...

    Belden 1505F for IC's

What about using 1505F for digital video and analog stereo IC's? What is the opinion on that? I am already invested in the strippers and the crimp tool to do the Canare or equivalent RCA ends as well as BNC connectors. If you like for the purposes how does it compare to the quality commercially...

    Belden 1266A cable

Thank you. Is there anything else you can tell me about it? Is it a quality cable? How would you compare it to other audio cables? For instance how does it compare to Belden 1505F or 1694A? I understand the two are coax and not a 2 conductor pair like the 1266A. What RCA's would you use on it...

    DIY RCA Cable terminations

Belden 8241 is a very "esoteric" cable. If you want to maximize the quality of the IC then you need ends that won't kill the potential of the cable. Some of the finer IC's produced today are made from belden 8241, 1505 and 89259

Need advice on replacing 18 year old AVR

Thanks! Really appreciate the model advice. What about sound quality differences between my Onkyo and these new units. The Onkyo is very warm. Any thoughts? I'm told the Yamaha's are very bright.

Need advice on replacing 18 year old AVR

I'm not sure why 90 watts. Most of what I've seen is 90 or more so I guess that's why I said it. Sources are standard Blu ray, CD with optical out and HD DVR. Hope that's what you were asking. Beta's are great but a little power hungry. They perform best with more juice to them. The 20's are...
