    Thanks guys and great prices on those cables BTW. And yes the older HT system is already hooked up and works(including the sub) and all I will have to do is unhook withe from current Reciever and hook them into back of new.

    Ok thanks for the help you guys. I think I have everything purchased and will end up having a nice modest 5.1 HT system. TV: Panasonic GT50 50" dvd/blu ray player: Panasonic DMP-BDT220 junky Comcast HD box is in the mix also i guess... HT Receiver: Onkyo HT-RC330 5.1-CHANNEL HOME THEATER...

    no, it supports component...ive been out of the game for a while and forgot the jargon :) I do NOT have anything that will accept HDMI right now I can use the old component stuff...but as was said prior its kinda backwards so I will just chalk up the extra $250 or so to get a new HDMI ready...

    I think it would work fine. All I believe will be hooking up to it is the bluray player really so tv(panasonic gt50), the 220panasonic bluray and the receiver and 5.1 speakers. Maybe a game system for the kid but that seems tobe it.

    Seemingly my old Kenwood just isn't gonna cut it(its at least 7 years old now) with the new GT50 Panasonic TV and 220 Panasonic Blu-Ray...the old Kenwood does not have a single HDMI and only 1 optical outlet..so I want to get this done. I Have a 5.1 system and DO NOT plan on(probably ever)...

    Yup, finding out with this new TV I pretty much HAVE to get a new Blu-ray player AND a new Receiver plain and simple,,,,nothing uses RCA anymore just those damn HDMI(nice but not nice when to do HT and DVD(since mine are OLD id say 7+ years) yo need to get something that will actually hook up to...

    I went with the Panasonic gt50at $1149 is it worth getting the extended serivce plans on something this much $$ I think the 2 year was like $169 is it worth it ?? still trying to find my wifes electric fireplace/media stand though :)

    im trying to find one unfortunately its pretty hard at this time to find it under $950 as the place that has/HAD(more like it) at $799 is "sold out" now :( (story of my life) so best ive seen now is between $850-950 in the 50" model
