Like a source won't pass? No setup screens? Both? The dedicated threads on toher ht websites for this projector have scores of people using AVR'S with HDMI output.... I just put in a Pioneer and man did I have to futs around with it alot to get the Pioneed setup to display. Seems solid now...
Man, I'd hit up the new Benq 1080p 3d if I were you and call it a day..... But you would have to move it closer. No way I would consider any projector that did not rock on 3D these days.
Interesting.... Do 4.1 titles, offer the original 2 channel as well? Would prove a very interesting comparison. The 2 channel, "ProLogic" Laserdisc I have is actually a pretty impressive surround title for it's day. I just happen to watch it recently.
If you can zero in on one? Then sort of wait for a deal on it somewhere. I just put in a low end Pioneer 1022 in and got it for well under $200 US.... I had it down to 2 or three models and just searched every day for a few days and bammo, there it was. Prett darn happy with it so far...
You notice no hot spotting with the HP screen? You have to look closely, straight ahead from where ever you are sitting? I tried one for a while. I went back to plain ol matt white by preference. But I have a blinding projector these days with the 3D projector, so little to no gain is a good thing.
With white walls and cielings? Lumens are your best friend...... Becareful, higher gain screens have a sort of sheen effect that tends to hot spot. If you can darken the walls and cielings just 3' out from the screen, it gives 95+ Percent performance of a completely black room. No great answers...
Not sure why on the 5' thing. The GT750 will also focus mere inches away from the screen.... I settled in on a 96" 16:9 screen about 5' away though...... Screen is on order from HTDEPOT which is now called SIMPLYLOW.....
Just to give this thread some closure.... I receiverd the GT750 and man did they make some great improvements to the 2D performance over the GT700 I used previously. Even my Laserdiscs look good on it. :) Gotto love the 3D on these things.... Rock solid with my DLP Link glasses. I have not tried...
Screens are very much a personal preference type thing. For my 3D setups I sure like basic Matte White best. But I admit Grey screens sem to eek out a a litle better blacks for sure. What color are your walls and cieling?
88" is pretty good for my tight space. The replacement screen I am looking at is a 92" 16:9 I'm still leaning towards the GT750E. Waiting on tax return at this point. Getting itchy on it as the retailer seems to be droping the price at regular intervals. I suppose the best price timming would be...
Your PS3 games show ghosting? Or PS3 Bluray 3D shows ghosting? Or both? I think some of the games are just not so great in this regard. My PS3 plays 3D Bluray fine and dandy enough. Mine is an original PS3 20GB with the PS2 chip in it.
I'll try agian..... $800 for a 1080p would be the absolute max, even without the short throw.... The furb'd GT750E is $500-ish. But because it has full 3D Bluray supporyt I can sell my 3DXL and that gives me the choice of replacing the screen or not replacing it and I like choices. I was hoping...
I'd love 1080p....... But, I now live in the deep wilderness and really have no money. If I found a fitting product for under $300, that did 3D Ready. I'd be all over it, even if it was not Short throw, then I could buy a new screen too. Current screen is a freebie pull down included with my 1st...
So, I find a screaming deal on refurbed Optoma GT750E's. I go to Projector Calculator and it won't let me go any closer to the screen than 5', other short throw projectors let me go as close as I want using Projector Calculator. Is there a real limitation on focus or some thing with this...
So I found some factory refurb GT750E's on a screaming deal. I went to Projector Calculator and it won't let me go any closer to the screen than 5'???? Strange, other short throw projects allow me to go as close as I want to the screen with projector calculator? I want 4' 6"-ish or heck maybe...
I have a new theater and my old transplanted GT700 seems to have a failing light engine after the several hundred mile move. I am looking at the least expensive replacements. I have no real brand loyalty here. I would like to stick with new.... Factory refurb would be OK, needs to include a...
