I came to the conclusion that the installers are idiots. They should have used regular RCA, but now I have to use adapters, such as these - http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103848
So I will try that tomorrow and get back to you guys.
Yeah I can run a cable along the floor. Might have to do that.
It was pre wired in 2009....thats weird. It says "5.1 living room" on the set of wires. Also, if it was set up for the old style, the subwoofer would need 4 wires going to it, and 4 more wires leaving it to the satellites I think.
Onkyo NR 717
Nothing "was there", its the pre wiring for the sub in the house I bought. I am now connecting a subwoofer. It is labeled "Sub" on the wire, and I am connecting a BIC F 12 Subwoofer as seen in the album I posted in my original post.
I've been setting up my Home Theater system, the speakers were easy, but now I am stuck on the sub.
Everything is pre wired, but the subwoofer wire has 4 wires in it....how am I supposed to connect it?

Understood. I may mount the TV on a 90 degree swivel and place the center speaker underneath that. Any recommendations? I have a 60' Panasonic plasma. Pretty heavy.
No there is not. i found it very weird. They seem to spent a lot of money on preparing this house for a home theater system, and an outdoor system, but at the same time, made it difficult to connect everything to the TV.
I will look into the 90 degree mount. I would like the option to store it...
There is not a gap, I would have to drill thorugh the cabinet. No problem with that though.
What is the difference between putting it on top or underneath the TV?
I tried to fit the center channel into the gap underneath the TV, but it didn't fit. Only half an inch more space needed! I could...
Yeah all the outdoor wire is 4 strand. The two sets of speakers are on both sides of the patio which runs the length of the house. I guess for hosting parties and stuff it could add another dimension.
So when I had the audio company guy come out, he went over what we had. We had our living room pre wired and they are all blue wires and labeled. Then we have our data cables coming out of the main panel in the house, so we can connect the cable box there or the ethernet, but they are not...
Hi all!
So I recently purchased a home which is pre wired for a home theater system. I went crazy on Cyber Monday and bought some items:
2 Polk Audio RTI A7's
Polk Audio LSI M704c Center Channel Speaker
2 Polk Audio FXI A6 Surround Speakers
BIC America F12 12-Inch 475-Watt Front Firing...
