Now with this long...
I pretty much selected the speaker I like, worked out the general room layout the next piece of this puzzle is searching out a receiver that will meet my needs without over spending.

From reading here Denon, Onkyo and Yamaha seam to be popular brands.

I think it makes sense to have the AVR feed to the zones, then have some way to control on/off & volume at those zones/rooms.
The room is 10 x 14, if 5.1 sounds good, may leave it for now to save a bit on the speakers now, but will likely add them later.

I wanted to get the basics of the wiring I need to install on a new house before drywall.
I’m kinds new to HT in general, so ……
Still researching equip, but believe I’ll be doing the following;
Projector onto a painted wall so no wiring on the screen end

I have a 10 x 14 room with a 10' height.
The screen will be on a 10x10x10 wall the projector on the ceiling or back wall 14' away.
I'm leaning to a painted screen at this point. Wondering what the max screen size I can paint and height off floor.
Need to have room L/R of screen for speakers.
Not...
I just read up on the painted screen options, that looks like a better option, with the saving on the screen I have more in my budget for projector..
That I already found out, tks
Agree on the LCD
I'll look at the mono price and Logitech stuff.
Ok, I saw the video, but that screen is about $2200, it would cost us less to darken the adjacent room two windows.
So a fixed screen, about $300, any particular type I would say about 90" Dia, because the wall is 10' wide x 10' tall need room for LR speakers.
Then the projector I see them for...
No it is not one side is open to another room, in comparing a plasma next to a LCD, the LCD looked cleaner to both of us.
We wanted the projector setup but were told if light can come in from the adjacent room it wouldn't work well.
I didn't know that, just liked the look of the room built in...
I'm doing a new build so I can pre-wire during construction.
Evan afterwards I have full access to attic.
I was looking today at the local Best Buy HT stuff
