I watched SPOILER ALERT last night. Unlike many other people, I never thought that it was a tearjerker. It was a good film with great performances but there have been far too many films on the same subject in the past 30 years. Many of those were real tearjerkers including some TV...
Why would anyone want to see half of a musical film and then wait 12 months in order to see the second half? This must be the most stupid, braindead and idiotic idea in cinema history.
I agree with you re the filmed musicals that you mentioned. A CHORUS LINE should never have been filmed. It is my all time favorite stage musical.I saw it originally in NYC twice during it very long run. Regarding CATS - it was filmed in a studio in London many years ago especially...
I watched I.J and the Dial of Destiny last night. It failed to impress me. Harrison Ford has never been a great actor although he was good (but not great) in the first 3 I.J. films. I am not really into action movies but the first I.J film was highly enjoyable.I saw it at the...
You can't remake a classic no matter how hard you try. The 1939 version was the very best of all the versions on film. The musical stage show was brilliant.
A fantastic award winning IRISH tv series .I watched it on our free-to-air Tv channel. One of the years best tv series. One episode contains full frontal male nudity.
i recently watched a documentary series from the UK on JACK THE RIPPER. Nobody knows who Jack the RIpper was as it was all guess work.
Unfortunately all the suspects were men. Never was a female suspected as the killer in any stories about who the Ripper might be.
A female...
I agree with you.I saw most of the films that you listed except for three of them. "Lady with a little dog 'is a masterpiece. ,I saw it where I worked .Saw 18 of your listed films where I worked. ROCCO AND HS BROTHERS is my all time favourite film..I watch it on bluray every year. The...
I saw the film on it's opening day in 70mm in NYC.There were very few people in the audience at the morning session. One guy asked another is he had read the New York Times review which I seem to recall was woeful. The film was taken off after a week.
I have not watched a commercial for a couple of years, either on tv or anywhere else.None of my friends watch commercials either.I wonder just how many other people never watch commercials?
Last night I watched the final episode of my favourite British tv series. GHOSTS.There will be no more series for the British show. Such a pity as I never missed an episode.I guess all series must come to an end eventually. It will be sadly missed.
The Paris screen in Sydney was woefully small for 70mm projection as were almost all cinemas with 70mm in Sydney. Such a pity as where I worked in Wellington, New Zealand we had a 59ft wide curved Todd-AO screen. We had SOUND OF MUSIC for 42 weeks .SOUTH PACIFIC ran 25 weeks...
My least liked news on t.v. is the nightly ABC news with David Muir in NYC. I have no problem with David as a reader but my complaint is that after having an ad break, David returns with a brief news item for about10 seconds and then there are more commercials. When returning...
I would like to see BLACK TIGHTS released on bluray. This film was great when I saw it when it was first released in 70mm. The dvd quality is poor. How many people even remember seeing this film in 70mm? It seems to be an almost forgotten 70mm film.
I have had both a portable dvd player and also a portable bluray player for many years. They come in various screen sizes. The dvd player that I have is all regions and is great when you are travelling or in hospital. They are cheap to buy in Australia. Great for putting in your...
