Thanks for that Roland, now I know so many others went to the “80 Days” quite a few times.
My 5 visits caused concern from my parents at the time, so they did not need to worry.
In 1966 they reissued the film and by then I was a projectionist at the Grand Theater in Keokuk.
The print was IB...
I don’t know about a possible 4K disc that would be up to WB Archives.
I personally like the idea of an isolated music track, several years ago I was given a CD that has many more cues than appear on the “80 Days” Decca album. However, I don’t know if any other music elements exist to...
“Grimm” did make money according to the records I have seen years back and also John Sittig from Cinerama Inc, told me this as well as Cinerama had all the BO stats. I guess it’s still making money as we speak, I have noticed it at least 3 times so far on TCM plus the Blu-ray sales. Naturally...
I agree with Robert.
I have seen the HD version of the 24 fps on Amazon Prime or perhaps some other streaming service can’t remember which and it looked pretty good other than some neg dirt and some flickering here and there, but seemed very watchable to me.

Some more weighing in responses on “80 Days” etc.
Let’s hope Robert Harris is correct and that “80 Days” will generate a nice profit once again.
The main goal here is to deal with the 30 fps version which is more true to the original intent of the Todd-AO format. I understand that the negs have...
Weighing in on “80 Days”
Yes, I have had talks with WB about performing digital image clean-up work on “80 Days.”
This is mostly due to the wonderful response to the work having been done on “Brothers Grimm.” A little more than a year ago a good friend of mine who has followed my career of...
WOW – I gotta have this film in my collection!
Reading about all the restoration trouble they had on “Out of The Blue” I just ordered my copy.
I kept thinking that another group had many more crazy problems than Tom March and I had on our “Project Grimm” or for that matter on any of the former...
Cinerama celebration on TCM Friday November 25th for 70th anniversary of Cinerama and the 60th of “Brothers Grimm” and “How The West Was Won”
Here is the line-up for Pacific standard time:
5:00 PM “Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm” (new Restoration in SmileBox)
7:30 PM “Rescuing a...
A memo from Cinerama restoration team for Home Theater Forum members.
Just a word of advice when seeing the new “Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm” Blu-ray.
Since we are getting many amazing advance reviews on the quality of our restoration which is quite humbling and certainly appreciated...
My wife, Carin-Anne, adapted an original designed poster used at Cinerama theaters then totally cleaned it up and added more color to the characters. We felt the characters were way too brownish to go with the technicolor label on the film and we tried to get a technicolor look to our...
Brothers Grimm on a curved screen!
The Final test for the restoration was to watch the entire film (4K DCP SmileBox) on a louvered 146 degree Cinerama screen at Tom March’s screening room. SmileBox will fit beautifully on a curved screen as well as a flat screen. These louvers were cut or...
Some answers to recent questions
Original data is still there is a correct statement. As part of this restoration we created a 6K un touched composite widescreen master of the show for any future work - which I can only assume will never take place. This is just what any good restorationist...
Recently it was decided to delay the release until early next year perhaps even February. This way it can be a 60th Anniversary release with several bonus extras which we are still working on. Just now we are finishing up the documentary on the restoration called "Rescuing a Fantasy Classic"...
Hello Cinerama and “Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm” fans.
Originally our digital restoration of the film was to come out in the fall of 2021 but after some discussions with George Feltenstein, who is now back hard at work at Warner Bros. we both agreed it would be best to make this a...
