I'm conflicted about this…While I'm happy we're finaaaaaally getting more Barnaby Jones, Hotel and the final season of Matt Houston, the fact it won't be remastered kind of sucks. Hopefully the elements are in good condition.

I don't see what's so wrong with the disk design though, I don't think it looks fan made. I don't like the pictures they used as covers for each season though. I prefer when they use the official cast pictures like R2 ones. Incidentally here the R2 covers for S1 an S2:

While it's sad, it's isn't much of surprise considering the DVD market and especially the TV releases is slowly dying. Just look what Warner did with their MOD service or the fact that companies license… It's basically the way we're living now, sad but true. Maybe there's hope and they license...

I still haven't received mine, so I don't know. That being said, according to SF's website and pictures I've seen of the back of the set it does include closed-captions. That being said, you're wrong about Kotter, it does include them.
