I bought the acclaimed Jesse Buckley film Wild Rose on Blu-ray from Amazon France.
This terrific film was only released on DVD here in the U.S., but in France you can find it from M6 Video. Amazon France sells it for $22 plus shipping.
The good news is that it is region free and will play with...

I went to see Teen Titans GO! to the Movies at 10 this morning. The only 2 movies available (out of 18 screens) at a Regal was Slender Man and The Spy Who Dumped Me.
I thought MoviePass only exempted movies for the first 2 weeks of the run. Titans is in its 3rd week!
I signed up for an...
I joined MoviePass when they started out about 3 years ago. I plan to continue with their new plan that could change again anytime!
However, I fully understand why anyone would want to cancel the service.
In MoviePass's latest service change, they will revert to their $9.95 price point, but only allow 3 movies per month.
What we don't know for sure is how this will impact first-run films. In MoviePass' update today they promise "The new plan will include many major studio first-run films...
According to their press release, "our app is now up-and-running with stability at 100%."
How long can they guarantee stability? Maybe into next week?
I had a problem accessing my app and requested MoviePass to credit my ticket price since I attached a scan of my ticket.
After waiting 3 weeks, Customer Service now tells me that they cannot do refunds "unless you've been instructed
by a MoviePass Support agent beforehand."
How is that...
The answer to MoviePass's latest price hike tactics is do what AMC's A-List is doing: Raise the MoviePass monthly fee to $15 or $20 with access to IMAX, 3D or any larger screen venue and no more "surge" pricing.
MoviePass needs to stop changing their terms of service so frequently. They are...
I am one of those who is keeping both services. I like AMC A-List for the larger screen venues and the ability to see IMAX, 3D or Dolby Cinema.
I like MoviePass for the smaller theaters where I can see independent or foreign films that AMC does not regularly play.
When I first joined...
MoviePass has just updated its plans--again! But it's mostly good news.
They have returned the $9.95/month plan for unlimited screenings (one per day). In addition, they also offer their previous 3 movies per month plus iHeart Radio for a reduced $7.95/month.
Anyone not currently a member...
Anyone want to guess what the next change of policy is? The only reason for these changes is to get members to cancel. A few of the policy changes make sense, but most do not!
This is a must see for anyone interested in Hedy Lamarr or the treatment of women in general.
Lamarr was recognized for her physical beauty and not much else. The film deals with how Lamarr was very intelligent and made several inventions. She was never recognized for her brains at all...
I watched my copy this week with a Epson 4K pixel-shifting projector and the quality was quite stunning for an almost 70-year old film.
The contrast looked great with striking blacks. Some of the stock footage wasn't up to that, but overall a really striking transfer!
Thor: Ragnarok will be released in 3D at Amazon UK for about $27 including shipping starting Feb. 26.
I don't know why 3D gets a back seat in the U.S.???
Disney has abandoned 3D for years, not just recently.
For example, the blockbuster hit Frozen (2013) was never released in 3D in the US, but in other countries. It was widely available (and still is!) from Amazon UK for about $23 including shipping.
What I could never understand was that...
This is one of my favorite Peckinpah films. It is definitely not a typical "western."
The thread of the film is the story of Cable Hogue who is out of touch with technology, a theme very current today more than when the film was originally released.
This film gives Stella Stevens the best...
Why can't Disney put a Dolby Atmos audio track on Moana? Yes, the theatrical prints had the Atmos soundtrack, but certainly not on their home video counterparts!
