    Your thoughts on Kino-Lorber Blu-rays

Decca in Europe have just released a large box set of all of Bert’s Decca albums. It’s getting good reviews at Amazon. Bert is the one incidentally who turned down the Beatles after their Decca audition!

I’d be up for those and any other Fields films which have yet to make it to Blu-ray.

Ozzie & Harriet Release From Sam Nelson?

Nice scene! David didn’t have a bad voice! It makes you wonder- why couldn’t the scene be restored and kept along Rick’s songs. It’s not like in 2023 they were trying to fit the show into a half hour slot.

Is the b&w era of TV on DVD slowly coming to an end?

I just realized that my post above seems overly pessimistic. Who knows? Maybe it could happen . I’d gladly welcome a 77 Sunset release as well as the the other WB detective shows. I’m not an insider, so I can only go by what I read here at HTF , which is that music clearance costs are...

Ozzie & Harriet Release From Sam Nelson?

Still a mystery! The Ozzie And Harriet Music Mystery! I wonder if Holly Golightly knows the answer! LOL!

Is the b&w era of TV on DVD slowly coming to an end?

Naturally, this is all wishful thinking since it still seems 77 Sunset is unreleasable due to music clearance issues. A complete 77 Sunset Strip would probably list for around $400 considering the number of discs necessary to accommodate all of those 1 hour episodes , and I don’t know how much...

Ozzie & Harriet Release From Sam Nelson?

So here’s a mystery involving a 1957 season 5 episode. David Has A Date With Miss Universe is a flashback/rebroadcast episode. Toward the end of the episode, David takes Miss Morris , Miss Universe to a restaurant. Playing in the background is Moon River a song that didn’t exist until a couple...

Is the b&w era of TV on DVD slowly coming to an end?

I forgot the Complete Maverick package which is now being sold at retail. The release of that and Colt 45, has me hopeful that Warner Brothers and WBA will begin paying more attention to their TV catalog.

Is the b&w era of TV on DVD slowly coming to an end?

Yes, I agree. It was monumental! But, so nice to also get World Of Giants, Colt 45, Abbott And Costello Show , and Blondie on Blu-ray. Let’s hope for some similar releases in the near future

I’m going by my memory of watching it regularly back then and a couple of mediocre video quality episodes I was able to see in VHS about 25 years ago. I wouldn’t dismiss a show from that era until I’ve seen the entire series or most of it which an unlikely DVD release would provide.

Is the b&w era of TV on DVD slowly coming to an end?

Still you never know! Sometimes out of the blue a show sneaks out: Colt 45, World Of Giants, Stagecoach West and the complete Ozzie And Harriet!

Is the b&w era of TV on DVD slowly coming to an end?

I’m not opposed to upgrading, but probably not the two shows mentioned both of which I have on DVD. But who knows…. Many shows that have never been on home video in any form I would buy as soon as announced. Some hopeless cases here, but- People’s Choice, Topper, December Bride, Adventures In...

Which long running 50s sitcom would you most like to see get a complete release?

I agree , but the lazy side of me usually lumps that in with Private Secretary. They seemingly ran back to back and both are very similar and feature Don Porter. Naturally, I’d love to be able to buy complete seasons of both.

Which long running 50s sitcom would you most like to see get a complete release?

The original poll covered MOST of the early sitcom we would like to see on DVD or Blu-ray, but here’s a list of “second division” shows many of us would also like to see released: •People’s Choice •Beaulah •The Trouble With Father •Bill Dana Show •Pete And Gladys •Fair Exchange •He And She...

Which long running 50s sitcom would you most like to see get a complete release?

The disappearance of Life Of Riley, a popular show which appeared in two versions and a feature film is one of the “little tragedies “ of the home video boom. Neglected by Fox and now Disney, we will probably never see it again. It was very popular in its day, and ran for at least five years...

Incidentally, this show may be PD , and episodes may be on file at the Library Of Congress since it’s a historical show.

I like that show, and would buy as an instant pre order. Anything with Gale Storm! I do have a gray area set with about 80 episodes, but a pro set would be very welcome!

Which long running 50s sitcom would you most like to see get a complete release?

Just voted today. I passed on this a while back because I could only vote for one of them. So, today I voted for My Little Margie. BUT, I would buy “complete series” sets on all of these shows if they were available!

Ozzie & Harriet Release From Sam Nelson?

With the incredible release of The Adventures Of Ozzie And Harriet now totally completed ( at least on DVD), does anyone think we will see any similar releases from MPI in the future? Classic Television has always been their bread and butter, so I’m hoping they will look into something similar...

    Your thoughts on Kino-Lorber Blu-rays

Looking forward to it! Although I DO buy many Kino titles at full price there are a number I’m “on the fence” about, so I save them to buy during sales. There are about 15 of them sitting safely in my wish list right now waiting for me to press the BUY button!

David , are you familiar with a hour long 1961 NBC Civil War series called the Americans? It was a mid season replacement for the cancelled Riverboat series, and starred Darryl Hickman and Dick Davalos , and many great guest stars. The two leads played brothers who lived in a border state and...

    Tonight Show "Vault" Series-Some Thoughts

Watched the 1975 episode with Bert Mustin, David Brenner, Sean Connery and Michael Caine this week in Blu-ray this week. This episode was rescued on home video tape, probably Beta. It’s lucky it was saved because it’s a great show. Incidentally, I always watch these shows with the original...

FOX MAY BE ON ENDANGERED SPECIES LIST, BLU-RAY WISE

You would hope they wood license them out to a third party like Kino-Lorber. And while we’re discussing Disney licensing, what happens to the classic “ Walt Era” films that they DID issue via the Disney Movie Club now that it’s closing down?

Disney & Sony Ink Deal For Sony To Take Over Disney's Physical Media Production

My cynical nature, makes me think it will be direct reissues, and not HD Blurays of things like Shaggy Dog, Johnny Tremain, Mickey Mouse Club. Funny thing though, neither Disney nor Sony seems very interested in their catalogs. And what becomes of the Fox library?
