Currently the only X1 box that can do 4K HDR is the DVR XG1v4. I have not read anywhere about that box having the ability to do Dolby Vision. For live streaming from the Olympics I would suspect NBC would employ the HLG form of HDR.

I have a 2016 UHD Samsung. The HDR+ mode just gives non HDR material an increased contrast and extra color. I personally do not like it. The TV will automatically switch to the HDR mode when it detects a HDR signal.

I was on the Costco web site and according to the reviews posted purchasers of the Costco version were able to get the two free 4K discs.

Some TVs such as the current high end Sony models have circuitry that analyzes each frame of the HDR signal and adjusts the picture to display optimal HDR. It appears to give a result similar to DV.

I have the XBR75X850C. To pair the 3D glasses I usually have to follow your procedure. However once the are linked they stay linked. Only a brief push on the 3D glasses button turns them on once the TV is playing 3D material.

I have a 7.1 system but I would like to upgrade the receiver to one that is 4K capable.

My ideal Atmos system would be in my basement with my 7.2 speaker system.

I need an upgrade for my seven speaker system.
