I have more or less the same question. I haven't followed the front-projection screen market for a few years and don't know what's good today. I'm also looking for 100-120" and unity gain or lower. Can anyone help with an overview of the current marketplace or point me to a sub-forum discussing...
Yes, I'm happy to see Soderbergh (like so many of us, his peers) continuing to steep, mull, and enjoy the film, and pleased for him that he can "play with" the edit to his heart's content, but his take on 2001 is definitely not my own.
I braced myself and tried a little taste of his handiwork...
Hi, MisterLime!
I was so pleased by the release of The Lina Wertmuller Collection in 2012 but, I confess, largely because I thought it portended the imminent Blu-ray release of the other titles in her catalogue at Kino Lorber. Are any of the remaining Wertmuller titles in the near-term plans...
Is it worth holding out any hope for a release of the remaining Wertmuller titles Kino Lorber controls or did the ones released a couple years ago sell too poorly?
The Devils
A Matter of Life and Death
Pasqualino Settebellezze
Ryan's Daughter
Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi
Sullivan's Travels
Tampopo
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
My course of action is not covered by the poll. I own the 70th Anniversary version and I plan to decide whether or not I will upgrade to the 75th Anniversary 2D version when I see some reviews comparing the two.
What am I missing about the placement of the entr'acte? It would seem to me the original placement, at the end of disc 1, would provide the user more (and more convenient) viewing/presentation options. I don't understand what's "strange" about that placement.
If Levi Strauss develops a new pocket reinforcement technology that makes the pockets of 501s less likely to develop holes than the pockets of the jeans they sold you 5 years ago, do you wait by the mailbox for your free pair of improved 501s to arrive?
Sadly, I'm not gonna hold my breath.
I'm sure the transfer (of what they did transfer) looks great, but I'd never be able to feel comfortable calling it a "perfect presentation" until they give us the movie intact. However minor the changes are in functional terms and however few people may...
Cool, Steve! The Swimmer used to by in my Top 20, but dropped out some years ago. I don't think I've ever met anyone else who ranked it on a shortlist.
Incidentally, I'm only waiting on 3 Blu-ray releases to see my Top 20 completed now, as well. :3dglasses:
Do you know what "rights" means? It means it is their decision whether the title is released or not. If you were entitled to it, whether they release it or not, their rights would be meaningless.
An IMAX screen would've actually given him a semi-legitimate excuse to put that crap in the magazine- at least it would have something to do with watching movies.
