International Le Jour se Leve/Daybreak Studio Canal

I watched (and really enjoyed) the StudioCanal restored Blu-ray of LE JOUR SE LEVE tonight and, although I was once again blown away by the movie itself, I was distinctly underwhelmed by the restoration. It's great to have the deleted scenes restored (including the scene featuring a naked...

A Few Words About A few words about...™ Drums Along the Mohawk -- in Blu-ray

I would really like some clarification about the sound on DRUMS ALONG THE MOHAWK. I have owned both the Danish and the Spanish Blu-Rays and have found the sound on both to be horribly distorted. I initially returned the Danish disc because I thought it was faulty, but the replacement and the...

    Guesses for 2013 TV Releases?

My biggest TV series wish would be for the excellent, but short lived, Tony Young western series GUNSLINGER. I recall this as being rather more violent than its contemporaries and Young making an excellent, brooding anti-hero -in stark contrast with the other Warner cowboys of the period. The...

TWENTIETH CENTURY FOX HOME ENTERTAINMENT DEBUTS Manufacture-On-Demand DVD SERIES

I've ordered from Starscafe a number of times with absolutely no problems. They are usually slightly cheaper than DVDGo and their shipping costs ( I'm in the UK) are also slightly less. Would buy from them with confidence.

I can confirm that the UK R2 23 PACES TO BAKER STREET is anamorphic widescreen. A very nice print!

International PAL AND OTHER-REGION DVD ANNOUNCEMENTS & REVIEWS

Agree with all the above comments regarding the Strawberry Media release of CHECKPOINT. My off - air copy from UK digital TV is significantly better. Oddly, both prints are also framed differently.

Warner Archive Discussion Thread (The Announcements/The Films)

There is a R2 Spain release of THE BOUNTY HUNTER ('El Cazador de Recompensas') from a company called Impulso. It does have an English language track but the PQ is pretty dreadful. It wouldn't be hard to improve on this disc so a Warner Archive release would be most welcome. I won't be holding my...

International PAL AND OTHER-REGION DVD ANNOUNCEMENTS & REVIEWS

Hello Ben Brigade! Great pseudonym BTW. Thanks for the Artus Films link. I see that they have the 1946 THE CHASE (Great cover!). Another movie that exists in public domain hell. I think I'm right in saying that VCI released this but that the PQ was still nothing special (Although predictably...

International PAL AND OTHER-REGION DVD ANNOUNCEMENTS & REVIEWS

Three of George Raft's finest - NOCTURNE, A DANGEROUS PROFESSION and JOHNNY ANGEL due out on R2 Spain. Uncertain whether or not to preorder. Many Spanish vintage releases have been fairly abject. TENSION AT TABLE ROCK and THE LONE GUN were both recent aquisitions that were filed straight in the...
