I enjoyed this film when it came out.
Good film. How could it not be with Claire Trevor and Thelma Ritter in the cast? Remove a star or two due to the copout ending. I wonder if the novel ended the same way...
Quite satisfied overall. I was divided between Oppenheimer and Poor Things for the main awards, and would have been happy with either one winning. Those were, imo, the best of the nominated films.

Except for Robot Dreams, I've caught up with every single nominated film. Last year it took me four months to achieve this goal, which was unusual for me.
I've seen every single nominated movie (including for songs) except for: Robot Dreams, To Kill a Tiger, and Io capitano (my fault for not going to see it during the week it played in Dallas).
I recall seeing the film at MoMA during the 1972 Paramount retro. I can't remember whether there was any Handschiegl process used in the viewed print.

I was fortunate to having experienced Hugo during its first run in a 3D equipped theater. It was awesome, and added so much to an already great movie experience.
Absolutely great sound design. It's a cold, dispassionate movie, which makes it even more horrifying.
My wife and I were not disappointed. Will I ever watch it again?...But replay value alone does not make a great film.
@Jake Lipson , if you had a vote and, as you argue, a previous winner should not get a second Oscar, then the by-laws should be amended to disqualify any previous winner from ever being nominated again.
