Bad thing about it is that some of us, like myself, have never seen this movie. I wanted to buy the blue ray but will have to settle for a cable TV broadcast. Not a proper introduction.

I could not have said it better. While I do not have a large enough screen to show off these movies, I expect my blue rays to grow with my system.

I will miss the CD. I have never bought an album from I tunes and I hope special editions are plentiful. Blue Ray audio would be nice to see expand.

I wonder if Lucas is now doing a modern scan of the negatives for 3D. I hope this will result in future blue rays that will eliminate certain flaws. I wonder if he will go back to the camera negatives and seps. This will give him a chance to give us the original triolgy as originaly shown.

Does anyone know if all the extras from the bonus disc in the previous DVD box set are ported over to the blue ray ?

I should have been more clear. I wonder if the age of the film is an issue as to how it is scanned. Would a modern print need a higher res scan ?

From what I have learned, and I too could be wrong, 8k captures all the resolution on older 65mm prints. I don't think IMAX scans their prints above 8k for Blue Ray either. I wonder if some extra resolution would make a difference there.
