I figured it out haha. I was using my home theater as computer speakers. I had the receiver volume up pretty high (20~) and the computer volume very low, which resulted in really bad static and fuzziness from all the speakers actually.
I've recently noticed a "purring" sound in my room. With no idea what it was I dismissed it. Well I was on the floor cleaning tonight and noticed it was coming from my SW-350 sub woofer. I haven't changed any settings lately, so I'm completely perplexed as to what is causing this purring noise...
It seems like the Denon picks the surround mode itself, and defaults to Multi In. I'm wondering if there's any way to turn that off? Maybe like an over ride?
With my Xbox it does NOT happen. With my Blu-Ray player it happens. I also have my computer hooked up to it, and it will stay in PLII: C mode (which I assume is what I want it to be in) until audio starts to play, at which time it will switch to Multi In.Everything is connected with HDMI's...
Well when I'm watching a movie or something the receiver automatically will switch to Multi Channel In. Even when it's a 5.1 channel source. Any ideas why?
I'm using a Denon AVR-591. The affected source is my computer, which is hooked up the the receiver via HDMI. I tried it in multiple inputs and still no subwoofer activity.
I'm starting to think it's more of a problem with the source then with my receiver. Because when I switch to my computer sound plays fine but it doesn't output any bass to the receiver. But at the same time if I do a sound test on the computer all 5.1 channels work fine. So I'm at a complete...
Sorry if I wasn't clear. Each source (i.e. Xbox, Blu Ray, and Computer) has different setting for that respective source. I was just wondering if I could reset the setting on one source, so I don't have to go through calibration again.
I need to restore one of my source channels, because it doesn't seem to pass any bass to the sub on this channel (very annoying) I'm wondering if I restore it will it just affect that source or will it restore all of the setting for all of my sources?
That's very true, the Klipsch is a much more powerful, deeper sub. I'll probably look into it and see how much it would cost, and if it's not astronomical I may do that.
A few days ago we had some very inclement weather. Everything else in my home theater is on a surge protector, BUT my sub woofer wasn't (I know, stupid of my). Well it got damaged and doesn't turn on or anything. I'm curious if I can repair it or get it repaired. It's the sub woofer that...
