    No monthly charge DVR.

Thank you Blimpman and Eddie W. You are right Blimpman, the EyeTV is very reasonable. The killer is buying another dedicated Mac (Mac mini starts at $599 $699). The Channel Master from Frys.com does sound like my best choice. Thanks Eddie W.

    No monthly charge DVR.

The thing is, the economy was different when those companies tried the stand alone DVR market. I bought a second antennae from costco recently (http://www.antennasdirect.com) and apparently there are a lot of people buying these antennas, so maybe the market is ripening for a DVR OTA product...

    No monthly charge DVR.

Recently, we canceled comcast and have decided to go with air broadcast; rough economy. The only thing we miss is the DVR. We are cutting back on monthly service companies, so Tivo is not an option. I read that PS3 released a player or add-on (I think called Torme?) in japan that is a 360Gb...

I hate it when good people get duped on HDMI cable prices. Read This!

Another online source is http://www.trianglecables.com. Good prices, nice people. I've used them on several occasions.

    Mitsu M VR700 Optical frustration

Al, you were absolutely correct; it was the select button. In the past, I used the select button to adjust the surround speakers, never noticing the DVD, TV options at the end of the cycle. Mitsu M VR700 Optical frustration

Al, I wish it was that obvious, but there is no menu/setup button on the remote. I've been looking for the owners manual for the last couple of days, but with no luck. There are the 10 inputs (DVD-Cable-TV-VCR-CD-5.1 ch-Aux-Tape-Am-Fm) on the remote that correspond to the backside of the...

    Mitsu M VR700 Optical frustration

I'm new to this forum, but glad I registered. Hope I can participate on all levels. I have a Samsung 50" plasma (HD antennae, no cable) with coax and optical out to a Mitsubishi (1998?) receiver that has optical in. I can't seem to get audio using this path? When I press the digital button...
