Barnaby Jones - The Complete Series

I was interested in buying this series recently, but it"s either unavailable or ridiculously expensive, especially considering the mediocre quality of the prints (I've seen some episodes on YT that I assume have been uploaded from the DVD). I'd still like to own the show, but only for a much...

Please Don't Eat The Daisies Sitcom (1965-1967)

The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (another charming, rarely seen fave) was actually on Laff, not Antenna TV. Anyway, I wish that Warner Archive or some other streaming platform would run all of PDEtD.

Please Don't Eat The Daisies Sitcom (1965-1967)

Season 1 episodes are in color. Only the pilot was in b&w. As for why the series was never released on DVD by WA, I remember hearing something about music rights issues. I'm still hoping against hope that those issues can eventually be resolved and we get some kind of release by the show's 60th...

    My Favorite Martian-Season 3? When?

According to tvshowsondvd.com MFM S3 is being released by MPI on Oct. 30. I wish that they'd re-release S1 & 2 as well.

Most Wanted Classic Color Shows On DVD (1965-1979)

I'd like to see Batman, Green Hornet, Please Don't eat the Daisies, Ghost & Mrs. Muir, He & She and The Practice (with Danny Thomas). I'd like more of Green Acres, Petticoat Junction, Maude and Ironside.

    No Chance In" H . . ." DVD releases?

Still waiting for Warner Archive to release Please Don't Eat the Daisies, but, at this point, it looks kinda hopeless. Sigh.

WAGON TRAIN Season 2 has rolled in

According to someone on the Encore Westerns facebook page, Wagon Train will start airing on that channel on New Year's Day. I've never seen the show before, and, as a fan of vintage TV westerns, I'm looking forward to watching it.

Oddities and Spin Offs you wanna see released

"The Associates" (ABC, 1979) with Wilfred Hyde-White, Martin Short, Alley Mills and Shelley Smith; "All is Forgiven" (NBC, 1986) with Bess Armstrong, Terrance Knox and Carol Kane; and "Getting Together" ("Partridge Family" spinoff, ABC, 1971) with Bobby Sherman, Wes Stern and Pat Carroll.

Car 54 Where Are You ?

As Gunther Toody would say, "Oo-Oo"! This is great news. "Car 54" has been on my DVD wish list for a long time. Can't wait!

    Enjoying Virginian on Encore?

I just did some research and yes, "Requiem..." has aired on Encore. It's the episode where the Virginian has several hours to prove that Stacey didn't kill a doctor or else he'll be hanged. I believe that Cloris Leachman played the saloon girl.

    Enjoying Virginian on Encore?

"Requiem..." and "Doctor Pat" are two separate episodes. As was stated earlier, "Requiem..." did originally air on 1/25/67. "Doctor Pat" first aired more than a month later on 3/1/67.

    Enjoying Virginian on Encore?

I don't understand why NBC cancelled TMFS in '71. It was winning its time slot and was in 18th place overall for the season. I remember how demo-conscious the networks were becoming at the time. Did the show skew too old? Or was it just becoming too expensive? Anyway, I hope Encore does air...

    Enjoying Virginian on Encore?

I, too, am disappointed that "The Men from Shiloh" is not a part of the Encore package. Looks like the second cycle will start around the middle of November, then. BTW, I've never seen TMFS, but I understand that there was a bit of a format change. Can anyone explain how the series differed from...

Short-lived and Cancelled TV series on DVD

I'd love to see "He & She" (the '67-'68 season) and "The Associates" ('79) on DVD.

The Lucy Show: The Official Second Season ... coming out on July 13th, 2010!

It also never made sense that Mooney would keep firing, then rehiring Lucy after all of her foul-ups. At least on "Here's Lucy", viewers can understand that the reason Harry keeps her on is because she's his brother's widow and is supporting his niece and nephew. But why does Mooney put up with...

"I Spy" on DVD: is it a good purchase?

As someone else who has all three seasons, I can also recommend "I Spy". And the late Robert Culp's commentaries on all of the episodes he wrote are very informative and insightful. He was a very talented, thoughtful guy (RIP).

    Maude- Season 2?

Has Sony completely abandoned this great series? It's a groundbreaker and deserves to be on DVD. And why isn't Norman Lear fighting harder to get more seasons released? Next to AITF, it's got to be his favorite. Very frustrating.

What's the last TV DVD/Blu-ray you bought?

Rhoda Season 3 and The Mothers-in-Law Complete Series. I'm planning on getting The Lucy Show Season 2 and Phil Silvers Season 1 sometime during the next couple of weeks.

The Lucy Show: The Official Second Season ... coming out on July 13th, 2010!

ITA about Milt Josefsberg, but I believe that Gary Morton was the main culprit in the destruction of "The Lucy Show". I'll never know what Lucy ever saw in this tenth-rate stand-up comic or why she turned control of the series over to him. He obviously didn't understand her or her talent and...
