    Movie Frame Option

Here is copied text form my user manual. Should I turn the 24(fs) on or off for best picture quality? Movie Frame (24 Fs) Movies are usually filmed at 24 frames per second. Some Blu-ray Discs have the capability of playing back at this frame rate. Setting the Movie Frame (24Fs)...

    Looking best audio option w/Samsung bd-p1590 Blu-ray

The re-encode give me no sound for any movie. I have poured through the reciver manual many times and it is very vague(in my opinion, but I don't know much about this stuff) about audio setup options. I have tried all the setting combinations I can think to try with no luck, except for madagascar.

    Looking best audio option w/Samsung bd-p1590 Blu-ray

Yes, the player is completely up to date. I got it to play Pro Logic II surround last night with the PCM settings. I would like to get the "real" surround if possible, but I can live with Pro Logic II.

    Looking best audio option w/Samsung bd-p1590 Blu-ray

It is only Madagascar that works with audiophile. I thought Sherlock Holmes did, but I must have been mistaken because today it would not work. I have lloked through to find the bd live in the menus for the player and the individual blue rays but have not been able to find any such things. I...

    Looking best audio option w/Samsung bd-p1590 Blu-ray

Ok, so I went through every audiocombination possible for both the player and the receiver and the outcome was Madagascar is the only movie that works the the Bitstream(audiophile) setting. None of the movies will work with the bitstream(re-encode) setting. The only way to get sound out of...

    Looking best audio option w/Samsung bd-p1590 Blu-ray

Well the audiophile setting worked great until i tried to play 2012. I gave me no sound at all. Why would Sherlock Holmes and Madagascar have audio with audiophile setting but not this movie?

    Looking best audio option w/Samsung bd-p1590 Blu-ray

I have a samsung bd-p1590 player that i am running the audio from into a panasonic sc-pt770 theatre surround sound system via a digital optical cable. I have audio output options from the blue ray player for PCM, bitstream (re-encode), and bitsream (audiophile). I tried the bitsream (re-encode)...

    $150-$200 What to buy?

I will be purchasing a blue ray player soon, but I know very little about them. I have browsed some of the forums, but the terms used are still like a foriegn language to me. So, with that said, I want one of the players that delivers the best image quality with blue rays and dvds in a 150-200...

    Correct Setup?

That is what I thought, but I've never dealt with digital optical sound cables before and wasn't sure if I would loose quality by bypassing the hdmi port. Thanks for the clear-up.

    Correct Setup?

The "reciever" I guess isn't technically a reciever. It is a dvd player that is also a surround sound system with one analog input and one digital optical input for sound from other sources.

    Correct Setup?

I am looking at getting a blue ray player very soon. My question is about how to hook up the audio with what I currently have. I already have a surround sound system and wanted to know if I should use optical cable directly to the sound system input or hook hdmi into the tv and run the digital...
