    Klipsch RW-10d reviews?

So resonances generated by MDF in one sub and wood or card board in another sound the same to you guys? I know right off the bat when a sub is out of line even after a good calibration and warm up. For instance, our home theater utilizes primarily James Loudspeaker products and the addition of...

New basement in new house, need suggestions for build

If you don't mind me asking, what constitutes resonably priced so that i could give some advise? Also are you looking to purchase all at once (the speakers) or toy around with set up for a while as you build and try out things such as recievers and source/wiring configs? Right off the bat I...

    reciever shuts down

I have had two faulty relays do just that- on an Harmon AVR 254 and a Pioneer vsx 817K. I too would bring the unit right into the storefront and demand some kind of repair or replacement however because a week or so worth of use just plain sucks.

I never said i own anything Martin Logan.....And what is this about leading other posters? If anything the people posting about the online only brands are marketing just that. I only offered some advise, take it or leave it.

    Klipsch RW-10d reviews?

I've been installing for 7 years here in P.A. and about 4 before that in north and South Carolina. I've "been around".

    Thinking of a 8' x 16' Home Theatre.........Any Comments, Suggestions?

It will require some attention to output capability as most theater gear is oriented toward a much larger scale. You may find out that a 8X16 room sounds better when shortened to 8X12..ect. It really depends on your dampening characteristics and sound load in the room. For example, my dedicated...

    reciever shuts down

Is there a clicking noise along with the shutdown or start up? Moxley is right to point out the possibility of a stray wire getting mixed channels, but i think this could be a power supply relay or faulty transistor/solder. Warmth inside the ampllifier can flex the pin connections and sometimes...

    Klipsch RW-10d reviews?

What do you mean you don't have to match timbre with floor standers? You have to at least do some listening before purchasing if you are serious about SQ. Not even the best subs out there will perform in harmony with the mass market (if they cannot calibrate themselves or through a receiver)...

    Klipsch RW-10d reviews?

If you are trying to complete an existing theater arrangement I'd stick with the Klipsch. My father uses a lot of Klipsch gear and has the RW-10D in a set up with RF82's and a rc-62 center. The punch it delivers is great, you can feel it in your gut, and timbre matched for most of the RF line...

    B&W v Mordaunt Short

Mordaunt short is well known for being very musical and their Mezzo's hold there own against a lot competing brands and or even larger models. I personally don't like B&W sound very much (or the price of the ones i do like) But that doent mean they are not stellar performers. There are hoards...

    Sub Hook up

I have not had any auto turn on problems with mine i was just curious. I think they might be for seperate preamps on some recievers or posibly rack gear situations where the lower end can be directed to different subs? I have heard a 6 sub set up before and it could reproduce a far away...

    Entertainment Center using "In-Wall" Speakers

Klipsch makes a good sounding in wall that you can find on ebay from world wide stereo. They even offer a one year trade up policy. I actually worked on a project for a customer with a similar situation, and we removed some doors and hinges and made some Mdf baffles to fill the void in the...

Speaker cables for new Home Theatre

I'd use the 12awg if you can swing it. Hell, try using Romex, if you cant hear the difference- it doesn't matter.

Mounting 58" Plasma on Brick Wall

Use Tapcon concrete screws and an epoxy anchor compound and you could hang a car on the bricks. All from Home Depot, but you will need a hammerdrill for the screws.

New home theatre, to be upgraded down the road...

I used to have a Jamo/Energy bookshelf set up in the apartment years ago that never seemed intrusive to me. As Far as a sub goes, size is not always indicative of impact. You might try using a Mini Vee for the apartment or hiding a larger 10 inch sub in an unused entertainment center cabinet...

    Sub Hook up

I was just curious if i absolutely need to use an rca splitter for the LFE jacks on a sub. The manual reccomends it, but i have been told by many that it does not need to be installed. I know that the sub works either way, but i wanted to know why there are two inputs and only one pre out on...
