I don’t think they’re more susceptible, but scratches and smudges will likely result in more playback problems on UHDs because there’s more data crammed onto the disc.
I’ve heard that Serling held the film rights and attempted to mount a production throughout the 70s, with no success. After his death, his widow sold the rights to Warners.
True, but a number of other sets have issues with Dolby Vision being either too bright or too dark or too green etc. The point being, I wouldn’t view its exclusion being any kind of deal breaker.
I disagree about the importance of Dolby Vision. Most of the time, the difference between it and HDR 10 is negligible to indistinguishable, and on many sets, Dolby Vision is poorly implemented - even on Sony's flasgship A95L OLED...

Fox titles are available for rent and purchase digitally, so I don’t think there’s some sort of conspiracy to suppress them on Disney’s part. I just don’t think they thought it was worth their while to release them on disc.
I think the only hidden agenda here is the usual one - profit. Digital sales are more profitable per unit than discs for the studio, so it’s hardly surprising that they’d want to goose those sales.
The average viewer never bought discs. They might have picked up the odd favourite or kids titles, but they mostly rented. What’s changed is the rental market. There used to be video stores that bought all of those discs and rented them out to average viewers.
Ryan’s Daughter was never released on HD DVD. It has been released in HD digitally. My guess is that it hasn’t made it to blu-ray (aside from the Spanish bootleg) because that existing HD master is no longer considered up to snuff. I think it will see a release eventually but where it is in the...
