alright, forgetting my original post here, what are some cool features that receivers have that i should look into? i know all the basic stuff they do like control tv, speakers, etc but what are some cool things about them that i could get?
Alright I'm looking to spend no more than $300 on a basic receiver. Nothing fancy, it just needs to do what it's supposed to do.
Specifications:
Must have optical digital input
Hooking it up to 5.1 surround sound speakers
Must be able to hook up to my TV so I get surround sound while watching...
the 5T5's are the ones i was looking at, forgot to mention that. i also forgot to mention that the speakers must have optical input and Dolby Digital decoding or else i wont be able to hook it up to my xbox. does the ED speakers have that? where would i look to find out if they have that?
haha ive decided to bump it up to $700, im planning on spending $1000 on the whole system, that includes 5 speakers, sub, and reciever. i dont really need a reciever with tons of options and all that, just need to be able to hook up in dolby digital 5.1 and hookup to my xbox and tv. should i go...
this is my room set-up right now (if you can think of a way to change it around and make it work please be my guest because ive tried everything) (also if you do that i would like to rest my back against my bed while sitting in front of the tv)...
I'm looking for some great sounding speakers and a sub that will work great for playing Xbox in my tiny 11ft x 10ft room.
must have optical input and Dolby Digital decoding
-budget: $700-800
-that includes speakers and the sub, so $700-800 total
-willing to go used
-im going to buy the reciever...
