    I see, thank you for the feedback. I kind of figured that. For a starter system I have found a way to connect it all and get what I am looking for. My next move in the long run would be to have an entire new system within the next 5 years. Should I being with new speakers or a new receiver?

    Does PS3 simultaneously output composite and HDMI?

    Is it possible to use my a/v cords as just audio cords into a reciever? I am looking to keep my HDMI audio going to for the TV and use the a/v cords as an audio cord for situations where i am just playing a CD while i have something else on the TV.
