Yes, what John said. I use Omnimounts for my rears and backs. I have rears mounted on wall and backs on ceiling. Y ou can swivel these mounts in any direction. I found them on Ebay. Even though I only needed 4 mounts; the package came with 5 mounts for $7 plus shipping. Heck of a deal!
Hello, sorry for just now replying but, I had almost given up on this thread. I found my F12 at Provantage. I just checked and they are backordered at the moment. Amazon shows to have a few but cost is about $340 or so shipped. I must say that I feel you will be very pleased with the F12 even...
Decision goes to F12 after much researching. Feel comfortable after reading what so many other folks said about their's. Even if I had waited and saved up for nicer sub, that still would've been extra money I could use for other pressing endeavors. Too many hobbies; too little money. Anyway...
Thank you also, Gene. I didn't see your reply until I had already posted previous reply. Boy, this learning curve I'm going through is testing my patience. I just want to say again how much I appreciate everyone's help.
Steve
Thanks, David. This will help me get dialed in. There is so much I did not know. The "boomy" sound is what I do not like either. That is reason I chose Boston G512 sub in sealed enclosure for my car. I insisted on tight musically accurate bass. I very rarely listen to rap or hip hop, if at all...
Well, I feel a bit silly. I just finished checking out speaker settings and I was very surprised to find that Audyssey had sub level way down. It was down below 0! I wonder why it would ever need to be set so low? Another thing is that I had the mistaken idea that when using Audyssey you...
Here is hasty attempt at posting pic of my home theater set-up. Just wanted to better show type of space I'm working with. Wife wanted the couch there so I didn't see any other option but to hang them from ceiling which is actually in dining room area. Notice the sub hiding in corner.
I believe that either of these would be good choice. I know that it may not mean much but, since the Boston's price is discounted as much as it is right now, I will most likely jump on it.
I look forward to seeing what expression on wife's face will be when she hears this thing during one...
There is another seller of the PA-120 on Ebay who claims to be a factory authorized dealer. It is Acoustic Sound Design. The guy's name is Michael Embers. I even gave him a call. He seemed ok on the phone even if a little abrupt. But, I'm sure he is very busy so that is understandable. He did...
It's going to come right down to the wire on this. Concerning the PA-120 and the Boston HPS 12HO, can anyone tell me if either of these two subs hit significantly harder than the other? Or, are they so close in performance that it really doesn't matter which? I am leaning toward the Boston...
Thanks, Stephen. I will check out the BIC sub. I did just get off phone with OneCall.com and will probably try for one of their Boston HPS 12HO subs while they are still on sale. Thank you, Gene!
I came very close to making what would most likely have been big mistake of buying one of...
Yes, Gene was helpful as well in previous thread mentioning the SVS & HSU subs. He also gave me links to The Nerds.net & Onecall.com which I am in process of checking out. My budget is sort of split at the moment between home theater project and upgrading my road bicycle. Ok, here goess maybe...
I am in midst of quandary about which sub to choose. It will be located in corner of carpeted living room. You might say that this room is approximately 15 x 18 feet but it is actually half of larger area with the other half a dining area. The living area is "boundried" by a couch.
I am...
Edit: Or build one yourself (gotta keep Robert happy ).
Now I wouldn't mind looking into that. Just a few months ago, I put together and installed a 12" Boston G5 sub along with 12" passive radiator. I considered building enclosure but, because of cost, decided to buy one of the...
Finally! The Onkyo arrived in a timely manner and it works great. My wife sure threw me a ringer, though. She decided to rearrange the living room which meant I had to relocate the speakers. The pair of surround nack speakers are now ceiling mounted due to open room behind couch. I thought the...
Payment complete and shipped today via Fedex with estimated delivery Thursday. Everything should go pretty quick since I already have speakers set up and wiring run. Just 2 optical cables and the subwoofer cable are it. Curious to see just how nice the speaker calibration mic is. Can someone...
Sorry about posting the Ebay link. I thought it would be ok since the link was to the auction page of the particular item I had just won. What would be best way to add more bass? Should I just replace current 230 watt sub with a 300 to 500 watt model or add another sub by using a Y-adapter...
I'm the one who posted a short time ago about the used Onkyo HT-S790 home theater system off of Ebay that had damaged receiver (HT-R540). Well, I just found a factory refurbished Onkyo HT-R560 with all acessories and 1 year factory warranty for "Buy-It-Now" of $169.99 plus $33.42 shipping. With...
Well, I have had to face the fact that I must have a defective receiver. I didn't mention earlier but, due to inexcusable piss poor packing job and incredibly brutal handling by UPS, the receiver was badly damaged. It did however seem to power up ok so I had hoped that it might still work. I...
Thank you both for helping me with this. I will buy another optical cable tomorrow and do this. Even with tight budget, I was still determined to somehow have decent home theater system. After a bit of research, I was very sure that I didn't want to settle on something from Walmart, which is...
Hi all, My first post. Very frustrated! Upgraded to 7.1 Onkyo HT-S790 HTIB from Sony 5.1 Niether reciever has HDMI but both do have optical. On both recievers, only the surround speaker output is working. I eliminated possiblity of any speakers or speaker wiring being defective by process...
