    Need Some Sony Receiver Help

Need some help with something. I’ve gone from an Onkyo to a Sony, specifically an 1100ES. On the Onkyo, I could set the desired “sound field” for each time of audio. So various varieties of Dolby and DTS were process exactly as they are, but all 2.0 channel sources (usually from apps and such)...

Thank you everyone. I will probably wait to see how well my 4K content performs when the C7P I’ve ordered from Value Electronics arrives. Not sure that I’ll need the Shield at all.

    2017 LG OLED Question

Do the built-in apps (such as Netflix and Amazon Video) on the 2017 LG OLED models trigger frame rate changes, such as 24p for films? I am hoping they do, but I haven’t been able to confirm anything. They do on the Apple TV 4 and the Apple TV 4K. I am considering switching to a Shield TV, but...

    New Bond Film: Skyfall

My only issues with QoS are the overly aggressive shaky cam tactic and the lightening fast edits. I thought the action scenes were a mess. I could not focus on who was doing what with all the camera motion in every possible direction. Add that to the editing of shots only lasting the blink of an...

I don't see a need for AVS to make any changes to their HD-DVD section. It is basically dormant already. There were/are rabid fanboys on both sides. I don't mind that either. I do have a problem with the moderators that fall into that category however.

What? Were you not actually reading the posts? It has nothing to do with my position during the format war (I didn't have one BTW). It was about AVS. There is a documented history there. The current moderators of their blu-ray section used to moderate the HD-DVD section. Which would be fine if...
