I watched Monchhichis as a kid. I don't remember much about it other than the theme. I'll probably get it. I had a male figure while my sister had a female one. I'm guessing the brand was probably more successful in Japan.
I remember buying Top Cat and a bunch of older shows for 3 bucks each at Big Lots a few years back when WB dumped off their poor selling backstock. I'd prefer WAC focus on putting out shows never released on DVD before or remastering some of their earlier popular releases like The Pirates of...
Given that Roman Holidays didn't do that good in the polls, I'm surprised it got released already. I hope we get some more GoBots and Mister T soon as it has been two years since the last releases.
Out of the 9 other shows it got polled with on Warner Archive's Facebook page, Police Academy finished in 8th place. I've never seen a large demand for it. My favorite cartoons are generally from the 80s and early 90s, but even I'm underwelmed by the release of this show. If you're going with...
Rather than working on another big set like Police Academy, I wish they would have spent that time working on more GoBots, Mister T, or Centurions. I don't like all these unfinished shows out there.
They did say recently on facebook about Mister T:
I think you can block people on Facebook and then they can't comment on your posts.
Here is a question answered today on Facebook:
Q: Any plans to release Yogi's Gang, Yogi's Space Race, Yogi's Galaxy Goof-Ups, Yogi's Treasure Hunt & Yo Yogi?
A: We're finishing up work on the brand-new...
Saturday Supercade has more to do with editing and deciding how to present the segments that they do own. They don't own all the segments and most likely never will. If they want to keep the main intro, they'll have to cut and add parts to it.
They made a decison that going forward (starting with the Centurions release) that they weren't going to put the H-B label on R-S shows anymore. They told me that it just made more sense to do it this way.
I think Conan the Adventurer is in serious danger of not being completed. They said the last set didn't sell as much as they hoped and it has been awhile since there has been any news.
Sky Commanders will be coming out in the next couple of weeks. Its been slated for August for awhile now
They've told me in the past that they had plans to release the R-S Heathcliff series, so it doesn't come as a surprise to me.
According to WAC Facebook, Shirt Tales and Monchchis will likely come out next year:
The other X-Mas set is a Rankin-Bass one that features The Little Drummer Boy Book II,Pinocchio's Christmas, The Leprechaun's Christmas Gold, The Stingiest Man in Town. Only the Little Drummer Boy Book II has...
Warner Bros. straight up owns the H-B GoBots tv series. They can do with it what they want. They just can't create new media for it, since Hasbro still owns the rights to GoBots name and future uses (and uses it in the Transformers line). A similar thing exists with Filmation He-Man as...
I agree that a majority of the time they are like that, but they have revealed good nuggets before like when they said GoBots would be coming out last year or Shazzan is coming out soon. They also said in a post recently that Marine Boy will likely be out by the end of the year and that was a...
90s Jonny Quest is being released tomorrow, but only 13 episodes in this second volume release (52 episodes total in show). Shazzan looks to be April 3rd.
I'm looking forward to Pac Man as well. Most people want the cartoons they grew up with and a lot of people on here didn't grow up in the 80s or later. I'm glad we've gotten shows like R-S's 80s Thundarr the Barbarian or the early 90s The Pirates of Dark Water (which was great storytelling and...
From what I've heard, Smurfs Season 1, Volume 1 sold very well, but there was a drastic drop in sale numbers with Season 1, Volume 2 which is why they've released those crappy Smurfs sets since then. I'd like to see a big Time-Life complete series type set. There is a huge set that is sold...
Parker Lewis' main problem is music rights related. It was pretty much said that the last set didn't sell enough to justify the expense of trying to obtain those music rights. Otherwise, it would probably have gotten a Shout! Select release. The first two seasons were both retail.
I bought the Dragon's Lair set. I was bummed that they used numbers on the menu instead of episode titles. They had said awhile ago that they were going back to episode titles again on all their releases, but it looks like at least some of their releases still have those crappy numbers that...
I've had some issues with some Mill Creek discs. I have to reload the discs to get them to play on my players, meaning I can't just leave them in my player after my initial viewing and just turn it back on again to watch some more. I have to open the player and reshut it so they reload, but that...
