Hey all, Good and bad news after my home theater system was installed on Wednesday. The good.....sound is amazing. The bad.......my new JBL 12in sub does not power up directly out of the box, therefore, is being returned. Secondly, I'm able to watch my new television (Samsung 750 series)...

In the middle of replacing whole system, however, we were met with a small problem. My existing ceiling speakers are very low end and the plan is to replace with a higher end, better sounding unit. Here's our problem.....the speaker covers are quite large and have a diameter of over 12inches...

I don't have a specific model in mind as PSB was recommended by my local shop. Not exactly sure what I plan to spend on speakers alone but want a higher end set, to include a sub as well. Looked at the Klipsch theater 1000 set prior to consulting with the local shop.

Hey All, I contacted the only "local" stereo store and had a salesman pushing PSB speakers. Has anyone heard of these speakers and if so, any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Budget for rec, speakers and blu ray is between 2 - 2500. Mostly being used for movies and some music from Directv satelite or through receiver tuner FM. HD audio would be great but not "necessary." I'm not sure what sacd or dvd-audio capability means, sorry. The receiver will be connected...

When jotting down the model numbers, I did in fact make an error. The numbers I gave were for my CD player. My Yamaha receiver is an R-8. I'd really like to stay under 500 for the entire project. Well that really stinks ! I guess I'll have to live with the location of the speakers in the ceiling, as I don't plan to run more wires to wall locations. There are 4 speakers in my cathedral ceiling now, so I'll need 4 speakers. I guess I'd be willing to spend around 150 a pair, totalling...
