the included aix audio test disc would not play the 7.1 96k test.. just had the dude talking..
dvd plays fine
put in wolverine blu ray, will not play...the player just sits on all zeros, showing the play icon, but nothing happens....
any ideas on getting wolverine to...
thanks.. have the cables all good to go.... one question though,
Do i need to hook up any other cables to get 5.1 sound, like the optic cable i was using? or do the 7.1 take care of all that?
Hello,
Just wondering what kind of cables to use for setting up the oppo 83 blu-ray using the 7.1 analog jacks.
I was going to use 2 sets of component cables and 1 pair of rca jacks, would that work?
thanks
i have tried searching google and have not really had any luck.
Just wondering if anyone could tell if they bought direct from oppo, or which of the two canadian retailers they used and how the service was.
Also was curious if you bought direct if there was any customs charges.
Thanks.
PS if you have this player, would also be interested in hearing about...
well i will hold out for 499 can. i see that it has already dropped from 580 to 554.
I am patient
this seems to be the one, although i have not heard too much about the lg 390 yet.
hey... thinking of getting this player and i will be using the analog outs. Has there been any issues or could someone tell me about their use? also will be buying in canada, anyone have experience in buying in canada?
thanks
just waiting for a price drop on that oppo player. i do not need wifi as my router is right there, so that is not a factor. just have to figure out the best place to buy. I am in canada.
If you use the analog outs and your avr has external inputs to match then whatever codec or sound stream the player supports will be outputed. for more info search samsung 3600 in this forum, there is another thread with information about this. hope that helps
Was just about to buy the panasonic when i read about the lg. was wondering if anyone had experience with both. I was drawn to the panasonic over the samsung 3600 as the panasonic superior video and audio, but have not read a comparision between the panasonic and lg.
well first read this thread: http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htf/...00-canada.html then i would think that it is something in the setup of your avr or the 3600 (or both) that has to be set for the 7.1 jacks. You also have to use a certain type of cable i believe (not 100% on that one)...
quote: 7.1 analogue jacks are for people who don't have HDMI. You don't lose any audio quality by sending the decoded signals over HDMI, nor would you lose sound quality by having your receiver do the decoding. I do not have HDMI on my reciever, so am I getting the best sound using the 7.1...
I have not been able to find much on this. But have a few questions. It is currently in stock at futureshop and bestbuy. Does netflix work in canada? Does the picture viewer and media player (hooks to your network like a media extender, I think) work? besides the other obvious questions...
would really like to know about the connect situation i mentioned above. I get the tv tomorrow and need to know if dvi to hdmi is better than dvi to pc plug. thanks
delivery tomorrow!! got my cable today, moved everything around... caused electronic chaos in my house... but it is good. yeah i know about the sd. have to call cogeco (cable provider ) and work out a deal for HD.
well it maybe soon. Here the reg price is $2699, today $1984.... pretty good. I did not go with the extended warranty though... hopefully i will not need it.
Well glad i waiting a couple of weeks! Leon's has this tv on special today for $1984 (that's canadian for all you USers )or something no payments for 23 months.... how can you say no! looking forward to getting this home, i will have to wait until they deliver it, and get it going. Going...
i am wondering about the same thing as well. I wanted to know if it is better to use a dvi to hdmi converter or the "pc plug" on the tv? my vid card has dual dvi out.
i think i am in for the series 7 67 " going to do my haggling tomorrow at leon's and gibby's (canada) 2299.99 is the starting price, see where it goes from there.
thanks....i will be running the hdmi to the tv for video and the analoge for audio. Was wondering how the panasonic compared to the samsung as the samsung is a new release. It was just reviewed in home theatre magazine, but they did not mention performance compared to the panasonic, which they...
Started to do some reading and think that I may soon be making the jump to hd. I have read a little about this and may be missing the individual threads but hear are my questions: I will be using the 7.1 channel analog audio inputs on my avr (denon 3800). I do not know much about the ps3...
i saw those. So you think it would be better to go with the 67 series 7 rather than the 72 that is non led? i was thinking that as well, the Samsung HL67A750 67" DLP LED HDTV is 2300$ at a local store. too bad they do not make a 72 in the LED.
