    Next Hanna-Barbera set?

It seems like nothing new is coming out. I haven't been to this site in a while. With all the old shows on tv I still think DVD's have real appeal. If you have become accustomed to owning these shows it is so intolerable to watch them edited and commercials thrown in. If I am watching tv and a...

The Beverly Hillbillies: season 5 when??

I HAVE ALREADY RE-BOUGHT THE FIRST FEW SEASONS TWICE. UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES I WOULD JUST LOVE TO BUY A COMPLETE SERIES AND BE DONE WITH IT.

    New Adventure of Huckleberry Finn

Believe me Warner Archives does edit things they think are politically incorrect. Johnny Quest immediately comes to mind. If you could find threads on that it would be a good read. I can mame specific episodes and sequences that were cut.

    New Adventure of Huckleberry Finn

Well I think there is nothing wrong if the original people creating the show wanted to edit it out before viewing but I always have a problem when some haughty, self righteous, interest decides decades down the road how ignorant and bigoted previous generations were. Well enjoy this show because...

    Completing The 60’s

I hate, like most of you, censoring tv shows. I am still blown away at the editing of Johnny Quest many years ago. For God's sake--Johnny Quest! Or Leonard Maltin's warnings before watching Disney or Looney Tune episodes on how wrong and bigoted previous generations were. There is always going...

    Completing The 60’s

The Beverly Hillbillies is taking forever. They will probably get half way through then only offer a complete series. For God sakes they are only up to season 4!!! How many more decades to get to the end?? I am 54. I hope It happens during my life but I am not hopeful.

    Major 60s Shows Left

Yes, the Green Hornet! I got to say I am kind of sickened by the incredible number of dvd's I have bought over the years. It had to be many thousands of dollars. With all these streaming options it just bothers me to a room bursting with contless dvd's. I did get a lot of joy from them but I...

R.I.P. Richard Anderson, "Oscar Goldman" in The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman

Yes Rest in Peace. I find it is becoming a bigger drag and heartbreak to constantly see actors you enjoyed dying. I know it is reality after all the shows we remember them from took place decades ago. Still it is depressing.

    Flipper's coming to Blu-ray

I agree. Everyone else is releasing complete series. It only has one more season? That is weird.

    Don Rickles 1926-2017 RIP

When I was young I couldn't warm up to him. I couldn't appreciate his humor. I thought it was confrontational and uncomfortable. As I got older I really came to enjoy him. I feel him and his wife's relationship with the Newharts was very endearing.

    It's About Time...Finally

I agree, it is innocent fun. I remember the lunchbox when it came out in maybe 1967. I was in a supermarket and the astronauts and dinosaur attracted my attention. I like Imogene Coca and Joe E. Ross. I thought Frank Aletter was good however, Jack Mullaney was hard to watch.

Well as bad as it is, God help me, I like it. But your right, it is pretty juvenile.

    It's About Time...Finally

Just saw the artwork. I am surprized at how juvenile it looks. It looks like the artwork of a young child. Oh well, as long as it comes out but I wonder if they are trying to go as cheap as you can.

    Next Hanna-Barbera set?

I thought I was knowledgeable about almost most cartoons. I have never heard about this show and I can't even pronounce the name. I will have to look it up.

    70's TV Movie question

Well it sounds like you are talking the same movie. It is hard not remembering Helter Skelter. I agree, it was the most disturbing story probably of that whole decade. Unbelievable how anyone could be so evil. I guess when your brainwashed and radicalized by an evil psycho and strung out on...

    70's TV Movie question

There was a 70's TV movie called THE POSSESSED (1977). It stared James Farentino. He was a fallen priest who dies in a car accident but is brought back to fight evil. I believe it was supposed to be a pilot. There is a scene at the end with the head mistress possessed and vomiting urine and...

    CBS/Paramount Complete Series Craze

I hear what you are saying and it does stink when they release several seasons and stop then release a complete series. However, I think a number of fans would rather a complete release than no release. For instance Beverly Hillbillies is 12 seasons. At the current rate of releases it would take...

    It's About Time...Finally

It is all subjective, there is something for everyone. One of the things that bothers me about today's shows, particularly police/detective shows is how unrealistic today's shows are. With very few exceptions every character is an anorexic, 22yr old with a perfect build and wearing expensive...

    It's About Time...Finally

You must be a young person who unfortunately hasn't lived in better times. Progress and reality? Is being immoral, irreligious, obscene, vulgar, unpatriotic examples of progress and reality? Not in my world.

    It's About Time...Finally

So true but another interesting question is what effect has either type of programming had on our culture? The age old riddle of what came first, the chicken or the egg. In this case does TV influence culture or does culture influence TV? Both are true but I believe uplifting shows make us...

    It's About Time...Finally

Interesting. One of the main differences between yesterday and today is the old shows presented an idealized version of people and society. Today's shows go the opposite way pointing out the ugliness of the human condition. If the former was a lie than so is the present.

    It's About Time...Finally

I think some of the interesting differences between Retro TV and currents shows and many incidental things. When we watch Retro TV we are transported back to our youth at least mentally. It was the time before the world robbed us of our innocent, care-free childhood. There are aspects of these...

I couldn't agree more. I can't disagree with Joe Lugoff, nobody is going to win an emmy for that show--I don't think. Yes, it is corny, silly, the laugh track can be annoying, Jack Mullaney was a poor man's Gilligan however, it transport me to a very happy time and place. I was very young when...

So true. This entertainment isn't going to win any awards but it is simple fun. I know a lot of people can not return to these shows and enjoy them. I am glad I never had that problem. Joe E. Ross is always good. Imogene Coca is also excellent. Just relax and don't ask for too much.

Alright it may be a silly sit-com but I remember it when it originally aired. I also have the original lunchbox. Got to get this one.
