If you want to stream The Abyss: Special Edition in 4K Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, then you will need to connect your Apple TV account to Movies Anywhere and watch it on the Apple TV app. Apple TV has placed the SE as the main feature, so as long as your streaming device, A/V receiver, and TV...
If you are referring to Fandango at Home (formerly Vudu), then no. Only their stand alone version of the SE has Atmos. The only place to stream the SE in DV and DA is Apple TV without having to purchase the SE as a stand alone.
It’s a great, classic show from the early 1970s, although some may find it rather slow by today’s standards. Paramount’s HD transfers of the show is fantastic.
As it stands now, the only two places to redeem the code are Movies Anywhere or Fandango at Home. Regardless of where you redeem, you will only receive the theatrical cut as the main feature, with the SE possibly included as a special feature. It sucks, but that is how the studio set up the code...
I was perusing Amazon's 4K discs, and noticed that they are back to taking orders for Aliens ($27.99) with an estimated delivery date between 4/1 and 4/9.
True Lies and The Abyss are still not available to order directly.
I have had something similar happen before. I ordered a DVD from Amazon Warehouse as "Unopened but may have some slight cosmetic damage." What I received was a DVD still shrink wrapped with a cracked case with a Best Buy price tag!
Last chance on some great Shout Studios titles that will soon no longer be available, some are up to 80% off. The sale ends on 3/25/2024.
Some of the titles in the sale include:
Pumpkinhead Steelbook
Big Trouble in Little China
The Fly Collection
The Omen Collection (Deluxe)
Dances With Wolves...
I watch pretty much anything that is on a broadcast network on their subscription streaming app rather than a recording on my DVR.
ABC/FOX: Hulu w/o ads
CBS: Paramount+ w/o ads
NBC: Peacock w/ads
Not only is the quality better (in my opinion), but shows are not interrupted by the local network...
No, these usually get shipped back to the distributor, who then ships them back to the studio or replication plant or clearing house, where the sets get disassembled, defective discs destroyed and replaced, then repackaged and shipped back out. At least that is what my uncle told me when he was...
There are also a TON of new high profile releases this week, more than I have seen in a long time, and that may have also thrown a wrench into the replication plant's assembly line.
In addition to The Abyss, Aliens and True Lies, we had Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Wish, The Color Purple...
Stock will eventually get replenished. If you have a preorder, I would hold on to it unless you find it elsewhere for less or about the same price and they have immediate inventory.
Hard to believe, but only Tier 2 tech support reps know what those codes mean, and they do not communicate to customers. At least, that is what a Tier 1 Customer Care rep told me.
Fandango at Home (aka Vudu) Customer Care is nothing more than a message center where a customer's only option is...
