I have the Shout blu-ray and I thought the picture quality was very good. Its definitely a worthwhile purchase as you get 2 discs, theatrical and extended cut. There is a review on blu-ray com.

I've been waiting for the Warner Elvis titles as well (especially "Girl Happy", "It Happened At The Worlds Fair", "Spinout" and "Speedway"). I think that the Warner Archive have got such a big back catalogue, there's so many films to choose from and the Elvis titles arent a priority for them...
Studio Canal have released quite a lot of catalog titles on UHD over the last year or so, so I think there's a good chance that some of the titles just announced for 2020 will be UHD. Flash Gordon's a no brainer for UHD, its a popular film.
I have the French release, havent watched it fully yet, just briefly skipped through it. PQ is better than DVD, quite good, but not outstanding. Aspect ratio is correct 2.35:1, unlike the German release which was cropped. French subtitles can be switched off.
I dont agree that blu-ray or physical media is dying. I've been looking at the sales figures for discs and there hasnt been much change over the last 2-3 years. Its still a decent amount of revenue for the studios.

The German blu-ray of Custer Of The West (which I made the mistake of buying a while back), is actually a DVD upscale. Its worse than the French disc. Needless to say, I will be getting the Kino disc.
And interestingly, I've just had a look at the sales figures for 2015 and they are about the same as 2016, which says to me that physical media isnt dying at all.
I have Cowboy Melodie. PQ looked pretty good, not much grain visible, so its probably been DNR'd a bit, but detail still looks very good to me.
I wish Paramount and Warner would release the rest of the Elvis movies on Blu-Ray. There's got to be enough Elvis fans in the world to make it viable.
I saw Coney Island last week, I thought it looked very good with lots of fine detail. I agree that it was rather dark. I was suprised by how much I enjoyed this film, as my viewing doesnt venture into the forties very often. I thought it was very witty and had some great musical numbers.
Oliver, thanks for those links, I must remember to check those sites for future orders from France.
I wish I'd seen those screen caps of Sign Of The Pagn, before ordering !
There is now a separate German release of The Appaloosa.

I would definitely like to see Captain Nemo And The Underwater City on blu-ray and this would make a good double bill with Around The World Under The Sea(1966), another title owned by Warner I think.
I have the Spanish blu-rays of Dark Passage, Suspicion, Father of The Bride, Cat On A Hot Tin Roof and Man In The Wilderness and they are all pressed discs and appear to be official Warner releases.
