I would also suggest that you may want to reset the DVD player as thats what I had to do to mine for some reason for everything to kick back on the way it was. Might work but might not. Doesnt hurt to try. Good luck with the problem non the less.
I personally have mine mounted up in the "Wedge" part where the ceiling meets the wall and slightly pointed down. I get the best sound out of that plus it seems to have less obstacles in the way of the sound. Plus if your TV is mounted on the wall at a certain hight like mine it actually...
I had the same problem last year and come to find out, my problem was the amp. After a while they tend to go bad. Once that happens, every time you turn it on, off, change channels, or inputs, it will send a surge of power to it and eventually blow it. That was my problem and the same thing...
I personally have the RX-V3000 from Yamaha and absolutely love it. I have never had any problems with it what so ever. Doesnt really have everything that she is looking for but in all honesty I will never get anything different than Yamaha or Onkyo.
