I got: The Dark Knight (2 disker. First thing I did was download my "free" digital copy from iTunes.) The Office - Season 4 Also have the complete X-Files boxed set headed my way from Amazon.
What a pathetic attitude. Not to mention extremely insulting. Yes, let's punish film fans on a limited income, after all they're only poor scum, right? Did you undergo years of training to be an elitist jerk? Or did it come naturally?
They're not forcing me. They can push all they want. I'm happy with the DVD. I don't have a home theatre. I watch on my crappy 19" CRT, or more likely my 19" LCD monitor. Movies look great on it. My headphones rock. And I doubt I'll even notice any issues with the bitrate being "low". For...
I guarantee I paid less for the trilogy set than this will retail for. So why are all you hi-def'ers in here moaning? Don't you have your own forum for that now?
Love that Joker cover. My only complaint about Dark Knight was there is NO WAY it should have gotten a PG rating. Fantastic movie, but it shoud have been an "R" IMO, and frankly probably would have been had it not been Batman. Sony can shove their BluRay where the Sun don't shine. I have...
My youngest absolutely adored this last Christmas and must have watched it 20 times within the first few days of me showing it to him. Shall add this to the Christmas rotation methinks.
So can someone confirm the debate from earlier in the thread (I think it was this thread) about Jeremy's parents divorcing, and in the "previously on Sports Night" there's a scene that ISN'T in the prior episode? It has Jeremy talking Natalie.
Won't be bothering with this set. Had they managed...
So other people should dip out on this cool Blu-Ray feature just so you aren't inconvenienced, and you signed up specifically to post this complaint. (Since I see this was your first post.) That's asinine. I could probably buy a Blu-Ray player, but there's no point. Even the most hardened...
I was really looking forward to this movie, and I really enjoyed it. I expected too enjoy it anyway, and while it changed the event to suit the plot, it won my undying affection when the Vanderbilt Cup was mentioned. Vanderbilt Cup - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia That right there shows...
For me, "Fight Club" was induction into the wonderful world of DVD extras. The two disk was LOADED. Four commentary tracks. A ton of extras including multi-angle features, trailers galore, behind the scenes etc... That DVD sucked me in and got me addicted to the format, and I've been addicted...
Loved the first couple of seasons, but lost interest when it became the Ephram Brown Anxiety Hour. Treat Williams needs to be cast in everything. And I do mean EVERYTHING.
Disappointed to see the site slowly becoming worthless. Comparing Blu-Ray to DVD seems pretty asinine. Why not start comparing to VHS as well then? Of course the Blu-Ray is going to be superior.
I've always loved the site, but if this carries on you'll have lost me as a regular visitor. Not...
Even that went completely to hell though, LONG before G4 took over. They start doing celebrity interviews and crap like that. When Tech TV first started up here in Canada, I religiously watched the show. Then they cut it to 60 minutes from 90. That was the beginning of the end. Ironically the...
I hope it keeps the politics out as much as it can. We all have our opinions, and even with the geniuses of Burns and Simon behind it, they're not going to make anyone change their opinions. I always knew the supply issues out there, but never realised it was THAT bad. Was awesome to see...
I picked this up as I've been wanting the movie for a long time. For the record, the movie is split over both disks. Don't know where the split point is... Don't have 3.5 hours to watch a movie right now, but the second disk is labeled indicating part of the movie is on there.
Perhaps I wouldn't find that so sickeningly offensive if it hadn't started out as a pagan festival devoted to Mithras among other things, only for it to be co-opted by christianity to undermine those other festivals.
Got season 5 of "The Wire" pre-ordered, lest the price go up considerably. Got...
Picked this up for the wife the other day. She put it on and watched it within 5 minutes of me giving it to her. Sets the record for the quickest a DVD has ever been watched in this household:)
The upgrade from VHS to DVD was a HUGE leap quality wise, and relatively cheap. Just get a DVD player, wham, you're good. Heck, my first DVD player was the drive that came in my new computer. Didn't get a set top box for another six months. With Blu-Ray, arguably a much smaller quality leap...
I got it a day early... *rimshot* Don't plan on buying it, but it was a great idea for a TV show. Fisher Stevens is just awesome in it. (But then he's awesome in everything he does.)
Just wanted to say how fascinating I find the comparisons on DVD Beaver. Really appreciate all your work. Even movies I don't know I like seeing the comparisons.
Hmm... Now I guess it depends how you define "bought" as I've not been charged yet as it's not shipped...
But I've thrown down the dollars to get the boxed set of HBO's "From The Earth to the Moon". It's a mere $20 right now. I was a big fan of "Band of Brothers" and "The Wire" has made me a...
