I had to go with Mother Wore Tights even if it's a long shot, it's my favorite Grable film and I always thought it deserved a DVD release. So how long does voting go on for and when do we learn the winners?
I had no idea that Universal re-released this. If it means anything I'm 23 and I adore this movie. I think I'll still stick to my Deanna Durbin Sweetheart pack though.
I just wish Universal would release the rest of Durbin's movies, I was hoping that they would team up with TCM to release...
Again I never quite understood that? I'm in my 20s myself and I prefer the original artwork myself!
Here is another one I hate. I hate the Criterion DVD cover of My Man Godfrey, they should have stuck with the original artwork!
But honestly I think Columbia takes the cake for the worst DVD...
I always liked the original poster art for To Catch a Thief, but the DVD cover is so boring, even with two gorgeous people on the cover!
Another poster I always liked was The Palm Beach Story, the DVD cover looks so boring!
Remember the Night is no longer pressed. I just received a copy today and it is most definitely a DVD-R. The point being here is that it would appear they are only pressing the initial batch, so buyer beware if you plan on waiting around. That is disappointing to hear! I just ordered...
I see that Amazon is selling Remember the Night for $14.99. I hope this means Universal is letting Amazon selling more of their titles in the near future! Here is the link: http://www.amazon.com/Remember-Night-Barbara-Stanwyck/dp/B0047O2FPI/ref=sr_1_1?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1291575682&sr=1-1
I'm really glad Season Four is happening! I have always wanted to see this show and thanks to Hulu.com Seasons 1 and 2 are up. I'm about halfway through Season 1 and I think I'm going to have to ask for Seasons 1-3 for Christmas! I'm really grateful for Mary Owen and her siblings because I'm...
Is there a reason some of Alice Faye's earlier musicals are not listed? I would like to see some of those released. Anyway here is my wish list.... most of them are musicals,
Poor Little Rich Girl
King of Burlesque
Sing, Baby, Sing
The Farmer Takes a Wife (1936)
You Can't Have...
Yeah I hope TCM and Universal will remain the rest of her movies. One film of hers I would love to see released is Christmas Holiday. Deanna plays against type in this film along with Gene Kelly and both showcase their acting talents! I don't know if Universal owns the right to the film anymore...
Not that is should matter but are any extras included in this set? As for the Durbin set I hate that we have to wait another month or two to see the Deanna Durbin set but I gues I can't complain if they are going to be pressed.
I couldn't agree more! Fox could easily release several box sets of her movies. A third Alice Faye set would be great as well. I wish Fox still continued it's Marquee Musical line. It was a great way to release other Fox musicals!
I was at moviesunlmited.com and I found this! The TCM Universal Deanna Durbin Collection Now Accepting Advance Orders! - Available on 04/27/10
Looks like the set will include "Mad About Music", "That Certain Age", "Three Smart Girls Grow Up", "Because of Him", and "For the Love of...
While I rather have pressed discs this is still pretty good news! I mean these actually have special features! And I hate to compare but I think the artwork is a little better than the Warner Archive artwork not that it should matter. I can't wait for the Deanna Durbin releases! I wonder what...
More Deanna Durbin would be most welcomed! Over the last year I have been seeing more of her movies and they are addicting! I wouldn't even mind another Sweetheart collection!
I agree! This movie is terrific! I would think Barbara Stanwyck would sell.... she tends to have a following. A...
It looks like this documentary is finally getting a DVD release. I was on Amazon and I stumbled upon it. The DVD is being released in a 2-disc set on August 4, 2009. It also appears to be a Amazon exclusive. Here is the link...
With My Blue Heaven on TCM last night I still couldn't help but wonder if Fox will ever release another box set again? Did the first set really sell that poorly? If they can release another Alice Faye set they sure can release another Grable set!
