Interview Interview with Twilight Time: Nick Redman on who they are, their business model and more.

Yes, "The Devil's Disciple" was a great unappreciated film. Lancaster, Douglas, and Olivier in a Shaw play- who can ask for more? I hope all the Lancaster-Douglas films make it to Blu-ray: Gunfight at OK Corral, Seven Days in May, Devil's Disciple, List of Adrian Messenger. Twilight Time interest?

    Blu ray Title from Germany

Should be no problem to order the item, but it will take quite a while to get here. Can't help with the German, but keep in mind that they use the identical Web software to Amazon here. So if you're familiar with the button positions and meanings here, they'll be the same in Gemany. One caution...

Vivendi and RHI Press Release: Laurel & Hardy: The Essential Collection

Because they can hold more information as in the recently released Rathbone-Bruce versions of Sherlock Holmes. And because they're less prone to scratches.

Vivendi and RHI Press Release: Laurel & Hardy: The Essential Collection

Pity they'll be on DVD only. A Blu-ray release, like all the Buster Keaton's we've been getting, would have been great. And more compact on the shelf, too.

The Stranger and Kansas City Confidential on Bluray

Has anyone seen the BD release of The Stranger? Amazon has it for 11.99 and I'm curious if this disc is worth it; the film definitely is.

Musicals on Blu-Ray, why so few after all this time?

Id love to see some of the classic MGM musicals on Blu-ray. Any chance for In the Good Old Summertime, Take Me to St. Louis, and the Harvey Girls?

Musicals on Blu-Ray, why so few after all this time?

No one's mentioned "Mary Poppins"! I, for one, would love a Blu-ray version.

Question: Blu-Ray Titles from Outside the U.S. that Work in U.S. Players?

I ordered both "Capricorn One" and "The Eagle Has Landed" on BD from Amazon.co.uk; the cost was approximately $30 per disc including air mail shipping. I'm looking forward to them as replacements for the really inferior standard DVDs. They should be here later this week.

    Criterion Releases in HD Thread

I really think that this is a good time for Criterion to test the Blu-ray waters. I expect that a large percentage of the movie buff crowd who've bought Criterion in the past are already high-def owners and Criterion's active presence could push most of the rest. I've bought most Criterion...

    Classics on HD and BD

That's not quite fair. Universal's given ius films like Spartacus, The Sting, Casino, and Deer Hunter and Paramount's given (inexplicably) Reds. Not exactly X-box crowd films. Let's just hope there'll be many more in 2008/

    **Official HTF HD Formats Ind./Retailer/Studio Support Thread-*SEE POST 3176, p. 106*

It's a pleasure to find an HD thread where the arguments tend to be polite and the discussion focuses on some of the real issues. The ad hominem attacks and hate-filled comments from both sides on some of the other sites are frightening. How can we discuss the really important issues like Iraq...
