Exactly. I guess I should be grateful we got both "Sister Act" movies and "Big Business" which has always been a favorite comedy of mine.
Sounds about right. I'm wondering why Kino didn't capitalize on these missing titles though. Or even Olive (when they were still in business). Olive and...
Couldn't agree more! I don't see how they don't see the commercial need for a bluray set of The Three Stooges! Though the C3 (the family of the Stooges) currently either owns or has some streaming license. So I am holding onto hope that a bluray release might be next.
I want "Outrageous...
Yes, same here. Happy for those that found something they like. Just wish I had just 1 film that I wanted. But I get it, can't satisfy everyone. Maybe something will turn up in April. Just itching to get all of the Elvis movies out on bluray.
I think the most frustrating part of this whole situation is that they are sitting on the 21st Century Fox library when SOMETHING could be done with it. If not releasing it themselves on any platform, surely they could license it out to Kino or Shout. Afterall, they did it in the past. I have...
This sounds wonderful! First time I've heard about it too. Looks like it was slated for release in May 2023. Wonder why we're only hearing about it now.
"Girl Happy" would be wonderful! I'd love to see "Speedway" come out too with Bill Bixby, Nancy Sinatra and Gale Gordon.
I was afraid that might be the case too but I'm hoping we'll get something announced in the way of "classic films".
Are we expecting announcements this week? I was checking back and it looks like last announcements were made around January 22nd. Hoping for a batch of film announcements. It's been quite a while since they have released any Doris Day blurays. Also hoping for the other Lucy-Desi film "Forever...
The 1986-1990 syndicated series GLOW: Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling. I believe some, if not all, episodes were either lost or destroyed. No one knows for sure. This is the original series that the Netflix series was based on. The first 2 seasons have been virtually unavailable for decades. A few...
Will definitely pick up the new sets. Have loved "Destroyer" since I was a kid. Always been a favorite of mine, even just for the scenes with Grace Jones. Looking forward to the new restoration of that one, hands down.
I couldn't find a thread for this release. My apologies if this is a duplicate thread.
I watched this entire documentary last night. I loved every minute! I was a little concerned that the running time of 163 minutes would lead to boredom after 90 minutes but I didn't even notice the time go...
I would love a "My Little Margie" set. The only "official" one that has the first season has such marvelous quality. It's a shame it didn't continue with a follow-up set, even though they were DVD-R discs.
I would love anything new from Perry on dvd. I fear his family/estate has something to do with the lack of releases. Maybe they are not interested. I know his daughter is still around but not sure if she has any power over these releases.
A "Love That Bob" set would be wonderful! Definitely a...
I've just seen that "Welcome Home, Roxy Carmichael" is slated for an April release from ViaVision listed as a "special edition". Wondering if the U.S. will see its own release. I'm thinking maybe VS new Cinématographe line since it's Paramount as was the recent "Little Darlings" release. Would...
The Ghost and Mrs Muir is a wonderful family-oriented series. The entire series was remastered in both NTSC and PAL according to the guy who worked on them. I forget his name but he was posting in forums about the work he did on restoring the series. Sadly, it only received a PAL-format...
So I'm sure everyone noticed the announcement of a classic TV release for March 12th. I wonder if there are more announcements coming today as well. This is all very intriguing.
Happy for the animation fans but disappointed there isn't a regular film or two for the rest of the crowd. I guess we'll wait to see what is announced in February.
I guess we are all anxious for announcements. I really wish they would release at least one of the following:
PLEASE DON'T EAT THE DAISIES (Doris Day)
FOREVER DARLING (Lucille Ball/Desi Arnaz)
LIVE A LITTLE, LOVE A LITTLE (Elvis)
SPEEDWAY (Elvis)
COOKIE (1989)
CRACKING UP (Jerry Lewis)
Economical, yes. But it's a favorite series of mine so I wanted to keep the Shout Factory sets for the bonus features when I get the urge to want to see them again. I like this new set for the quick load and simple no-frills menus. So I'll most-likely watch from the new set and keep the old set...
I hope they have some surprises coming this year. Would really love a box set of Perry Como Specials but I fear his family is not very interested in preserving his television work. I would even love to see some of The Carpenters specials (as fans have asked for years) but it appears Richard...
Does anyone know if MPI is going out of business? I know they have slowed down with releases in the past year but there isn't a thing on their "coming soon" list now. Ozzie & Harriet appears to be the last thing they have been working on. I was hoping to see more rare tv releases, like perhaps...
I pre-ordered this set through the ClassicFlix site. Does anyone know if they are shipping out copies of Abbott & Costello - Season 2 before the street date?
I can confirm the new dvd set definitely restores the tag scene in the episode "Super Reporter". It's actually a pretty nice set. No fancy menus like the Shout Factory dvd sets. But the discs load right to a simple menu screen with a photo and listing of each episode. I didn't notice any...
Thanks for the info! I noticed the tag scene is what is missing from that episode. I just saw it on streaming so I'm confident that the new dvd set will have it. I'm a completist so I will probably buy the set even just to know I have the complete series without any cuts. Good to have an extra...
I bought the previously-released Shout sets years ago. But I would love that uncut episode. Has anyone bought this set that can confirm it includes the uncut version of "Super Reporter"? It would be awful to spend another 50-something for the series just to have yet another edit.
I noticed this the most on the episode Good Old Reliable Janet. Was hoping it got corrected or a better version on this new set. Might be a tad better, it's hard to tell on a tube tv (which I still have) because it does seem to show up more on newer flat screen sets.
Ok, thanks for confirming that. At least, I know it wasn't just me who noticed. They didn't do this on the GAB or K&A set, did they? I haven't watched them yet. I did pop a GAB disc in but didn't notice anything straight off.
