Star Wars The Complete Saga MEMBER REVIEW Thread

I watched all the OT extras - really awesome. On the deleted scenes front - Star Wars - fascinating scenes, but mostly bad acting and/or poor pacing. Glad they were cut Empire - mostly off-cuts, glad they were cut, but still interesting in places. Some nice Han/Leia scenes in here. Jedi -...

Star Wars The Complete Saga MEMBER REVIEW Thread

I am doing the extras discs first, starting with Ep4. As one of the cliched childhood fans of the 70s I had to see the deleted scenes that were imprinted on my young brain through the novel and old Marvel comics. All of the stuff for Ep4 so far is really awesome. It's great seeing the deleted...

Ordered Solaris, Fear and Loathing, Kiss Me Deadly and High & Low. Got the 10% discount, basically covered tax. A Few Words About A few words about...™ The Lord of the Rings Trilogy - Extended Edition -- in Blu-ray

Oh yeah - audio - FANTASTIC. Upgraded all my speakers recently - Definitive Mythos and a Rythmik sub. Mixes like LOTR with lossless audio tracks are just magic. Dialog is crystal clear, and you hear all the nuances and spatiality of the score and sound effects. Great stuff.

A Few Words About A few words about...™ The Lord of the Rings Trilogy - Extended Edition -- in Blu-ray

Watched FoTR tonight. I have a 55" Samsung 8500 LED TV with local backlighting (i.e. not edge backlighting). Short story - it looks amazing. it doesn't look green tinted and the infamous snowy screenshot looked like blue tinged white on my screen, not green. There was no flat green on the fade...

    Your want/prediction list for 2011

To go along with Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown, how about finally releasing Kill Bill : The Whole Bloody Affair next year? I know, I know, hell hasn't frozen over yet. Love to see some Lynch films on Blu, especially Blue Velvet and Wild at Heart. Early Hal Hartley films - Unbelievable...

Blu-ray Review HTF BLU-RAY REVIEW: The Night of the Hunter

Watched this for the first time tonight - what a fantastic movie and it looks magnificent in blu-ray. Apart from a bit of forced sounding dialog (which I find is not uncommon in a lot of pre-60s movies) it was really great - creepy at times, dreamlike at others. Mitchum and Gish were...

Blu-ray Review HTF BLU-RAY REVIEW: WWII in HD (Highly Recommended)

I think you're correct, Ricker. In the making of documentary on the World at War DVDs, that show's producer Jeremy Isaacs talks at length about the topics of adding sound effects to mostly silent wartime footage, using footage in incorrect locations/times and using footage believed to be...

What ever happened to KILL BILL deluxe set?

In the Japanese one there's some extra shots as well as the color. There's an extra little bit with the kid that gets smacked at the end of the fight. I remember reading that the Whole Bloody Affair also removes the zinger about the daughter as this was added as a cliffhanger when they...
