    Buttkicker experience

Thanks for the info. I really need to figure out how to mount them with the furniture instead of the floor joists. My setup makes that a little difficult with running the cables. Probably go with some Berkline chairs when I have the money.

    Buttkicker experience

Hello All, Need opinions on number of Buttkicker LFE’s for a 20x13x9 dedicated. I plan to mount them under the house, in the crawl space, on the floor joists, directly beneath the front row couch. I was thinking of just two with their BKA1000 amp. Mounting them in the couch would not be...

    Dual Subs Experience

Ed, Am I understanding you correctly that a second 20-39 is better than a 20-39and a plus/2? Didn't know what would happen with a 20-39 and plus/2 as the dual pair.

    Dual Subs Experience

Chris, 2430 ft^3. The duals I have now are practically junk, DT pf12 and a 12" CV. They give out on really strong LFE's but they're surprisingly smooth together. I'm milking them for all they're worth. I'm one of those people that never wants to hear a sub bottom out again. With that in mind...

    Dual Subs Experience

Derek, Ed from SVS told me the same thing about the advantages of lower frequencies with the 20-39 PC+ cylinders. I'm still leaning toward them. The thing about the dual Plus/2's is I may never buy the second if I don't get them both now. I need to just spend the money and get the cylinders...

    Dual Subs Experience

Is it really only a 1-2db difference? I would have thought given the port, power, and volume the difference would be very notable. I've been going back and forth between SVS subs and was debating on two 20-39 PC+ cylinders, but if a single Plus/2 is that close I'll go with the single and upgrade...

    Dual Subs Experience

Chris I agree with Arthur in the "wall of bass" effect. It's difficult to describe but when I added a second sub, there was a definite added dimension or smoothness. I also separated mine. When I co-located, even after making numerous adjustments, there was less "presence" and less...

    SVS sub questions

Derek, great info. This is exactly why I was going with duals. I'm still curious about a comparison between the MKIII and 20-39+. In theory the two should not be comparable. I'll get some subs and start working on the 150lb slab.:)

    SVS sub questions

Arthur, thanks for the advice. For Steven Or and myself, How would you rate the MKIII vs the 20-39+? I'm actually looking at getting duals and after reading Derek's post I'm wondering if that's more than I need...if such a thing is possible. Also did some searching for a diy subdude and couldn't...

    SVS sub questions

I've always read these two companies are very similar in sound quality as long as you get comparable units. Steven, I just saw a 20-39+ a few days ago. If you keep watching you'll catch one.

    SVS sub questions

Arthur, I'm deciding between SVS and HSU. Wouldn't the VTF3-HO be a better comparison to the 20-39. Haven't heard either so I was wondering in your experience if the extra power in the 20-39 would surpass the HSU VTF3-MKIII? I Like the price of the HSU. I've been going back and forth between...

    Subs and projector bulb life

Thanks again. I'm feeling much better. Maybe I'll go with 4 PB12-Ultra/2. Really, I'm pushing the cost with the two 20-39's.

    Subs and projector bulb life

Thanks Leo. Gives me more peace of mind since I just replaced it. Maybe I'll get three subs now.....only joking. These two are probably more than I need for the space.

    Subs and projector bulb life

Anyone have opinions or data regarding sub output and bulb life? Looking to upgrade subs but I'm a little worried about the added bass causing bulb life to decrease. Two SVS 20-39 PC–Plus in a 20'x13.5'X9' dedicated. I may just be paranoid but those little boogers are expensive.:)
