"The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz" is a classic widescreen film that has never even been released letterboxed. It's crazy that the best Canadian film ever made gets this kind of treatment.
The film has already grossed over 100 million worldwide and there are many countries where it hasn't been released, so it could pull in a lot more. It only cost around 40 million to make. I don't think Tarantino made this film to make a ton of money. If he wanted to make a ton of money he...
What ever you want to say about this film doesn't hide the fact that it is a more realistic and honest depiction of the old south then "Gone With The Wind". That is one of the many reasons most white people hate this film and yes the Blu-ray does stink.
The latest 1960's Merv episode hacked out "Cambridge Circus". Cambridge Circus consisted of John Cleese and Graham Chapman (Pre-Monty Python) and other British comics. It certainly would have been horrible for us to see their U.S. TV debut. Thanks a lot Get-TV!
I guess since you have worked with library music companies you will have no problem sending me information about all the lawsuits that studio have been hit with over 50 year old stock music cues. It seems funny that no other studio seems to have many problems with cutting 50 year old music cues...
Amazon has currently stopped selling them due to complaints, but they still allow others to sell them. If CBS wanted to build up some bad will they have managed to do it BIG TIME.
Let's face it nobody was going to sue CBS over 50 year old music cues! If any company has ever been sued over 50 year old music cues I would like someone to send me some proof. We are not talking about songs here just music cues.
I noticed that "The Grifters" is getting re-released on Blu-ray in March. I hope they remastered it because it seems like their is plenty of room for improvement on the last Blu-ray release. It just doesn't seem like this film has gotten the Blu-ray treatment it deserves. Did you produce "The...
I don't really think there is that much hoopla over this and I'm guessing most Stooge fans are going to pass on buying it. I might be interested in having a look at the classic Curly shorts on Blu-ray to see if there is much improvement.
I think a lot of the TV shows bad reputation comes from the fact that few people have seen it. I also believe that many people think that "Birth of a Nation" is a great film because they haven't seen it. In my opinion "Birth of a Nation" is probably the worst movie ever made. It's only...
I couldn't agree more on "Devil Thumbs a Ride". It was of the funniest, most insane film noir movies of all time. Anybody who likes Quentin Tarantino will love this film! I dubbed a copy off an old VHS print that was double billed with another film.
It weird to live in a era where Snoop Dogg can go to an award show with women on dog leashes or give interviews where he brags about beating his "ho's" and get no flack, but the TV series Amos and Andy is considered racist. We really haven't come a long way. The people who wrote the Amos and...
I saw a very early Rilo Kiley concert (lead singer Jenny Lewis is in the film) and during the show about 10 people suddenly screamed "Troop Beverly Hills Rules!" at the top of their lungs. Jenny was kind of shocked, but thanked them.
Has anybody mentioned that Bea Arthur turns up in the previously "lost" McGuire Sisters episode? This is certainly the earliest thing I have ever seen her in.
I just got my UV code from Amazon.co.uk. I apparently pre-ordered the Blu-ray so early when they had actually advertised that the U.K. set was coming with them. I sold the code for 40 bucks, so the set only cost me about 100. I can't believe there are people trying to sell the code on Ebay...
I decided to go ahead and buy the complete U.K. set after seeing the remastered Blu-ray set. I agree that the Blu-ray set is a mixed bag, but there is no way of getting around that the remastered versions have none of the print damage of the A&E sets and after you see them it's hard to go back...
