Is Polanski's Tess some where down the road for Criterion?

Not sure. Criterion is also supposedly working on Cul-De-Sac, so it's possible...

DVD Review HTF DVD REVIEW: High School Flashback Collection (John Hughes Films)

Yes, it does have the keepcases of the individual releases. With that said, though, the individual releases come with slipcovers, and the ones in the tin don't. It's not THAT big of a deal, but knowing how some collectors are with slipcovers...

'Groundhog Day' - will the new AE be worth a triple-dip?

That list is absolutely terrible. They leave off Groundhog Day (along with other worthy movies such as Ghostbusters), yet they add the following: Fever Pitch Black Sheep (I'm not a Tommy Boy fan, but they should have gone with that if they wanted to list Farley/Spade movie) Blades Of Glory...

    Grindhouse japanese dvd boxset

I've got the individual movies already (the Best Buy steelbook releases). I'd gladly get the theatrical cut if it was released by itself, however.

    Grindhouse DVD's

No one's disagreeing with you that Grindhouse was a good movie. But the fact is, based on financial performance, if flopped. Others have already reiterated why that is the case.

'Groundhog Day' - will the new AE be worth a triple-dip?

No need to triple dip; the commentary is on the current SE.

DVD Review HTF DVD REVIEW: The Princess Bride 20th Anniversary Edition

Goddamn. This looks like a COMPLETELY pointless release afterall. I'll stick with the Dread Pirate Edition I have, despite the fact that the new release's cover art is undeniably cooler.

    Where is The Prestige:SE?

I hadn't heard anything about it. I would love a SE to that movie, though. It was one of my favorites from last year.

The Evil Dead three disc set on 12/18/07

I haven't bought the movie yet, so I'll probably hold off for this one.

The Princess Bride - 20th Anniversary Edition

I've got the Dread Pirate Edition already, but that cover art is almost enough for me to double dip. ;)

Would you buy DVDs at a garage sale?

I wouldn't be opposed to it. I tend to buy used stuff often. Hell, I got a used copy of the "3 Films by Louis Malle" Criterion box set at FYE, with the discs in pristine condition.

Let's talk John Hughes films on dvd.

There's allegedly a 2 & 1/2 hour length version of The Breakfast Club that Hughes is in possession of. Personally, I'd like to see it.

    Chinatown SE?

Well, I bit recently and picked it up for a few bucks at Best Buy last week. Knowing my luck, expect a Chinatown: Criterion Collection announcement in another week or so. >_>

Question concerning Fox's new steelbook release of Die Hard

I know that the steelbook edition that Fox is releasing is a 2-disc set. But is this set identical to the Five Star Collection release that Fox released years ago, just in the aforementioned steelbook? Thanks in advance.

    "The Graduate" 40th Anniversary CE - 9/11

You know what's funny? The Graduate is a title I always assumed would get a "collector's edition" or "deluxe edition", but I ended up picking up the current bare-bones edition at FYE for $9 less than a month ago. -_- Oh well. The Graduate is a title I'd gladly double-dip for.

    New MRS. DOUBTFIRE edition

Well, maybe I can order it at the FYE I work at, if they have had it in stock. There's a chance that there will be one in the warehouse they can ship to my store. :)

"Usual Suspects" to be Triple-Dipped by MGM

I remember hearing about this a while ago, and since I tend to be somewhat OCD about these things, I held off on re-buying the current version (long story). And then no one had any information on it. Even at the store I work at. :frowning:

WHV Announcement: STATEMENT REGARDING “VERONICA MARS” FANS TESTIMONIALS

Well, when you consider that shows like 7th Heaven and Gilmore Girls won't be returning next season, along with the fact that the network execs (at least now, anyway) seem intrigued with the concept of skipping ahead a few years with Veronica working in the FBI, perhaps it will go another...

Grindhouse to be split-up for DVD ?

I think people should have learned after Snakes On A Plane that just because something is popular on the Internet doesn't mean it will be popular in the mainstream.

With demise of places like Tower Records where are collectors buying their dvd's?

I typically go to FYE, due to the fact that I work there, and as a result: A) I get a discount (which helps, since I'll be the first to admit that we're pricey). B) I can order anything I'm interested in, without having to pay a deposit. Hell, all the Criterion titles in our store, aside...
