I'm no fan of Books On Handhelds, either. A friend of mine had a book removed from her Tablet reader (whatever) over a copyright issue. She was reimbursed for it, but someone just reached down out of the sky and deleted it. It's just as likely that a Studio could put a movie or TV...
I'm with you 100%. I'd hate to see CDs and DVDs become obsolete. My kids are using some "cloud" to store their stuff. I tell them that clouds can vanish within moments. Despite my being a meteorologist, they say I'm wrong...and tell me, "Dad, if you had your way, you'd be still playing...
I have to agree with you. The skeletonized cutout is in the shape of the Recycle symbol. The Enviros are being hoodwinked, however. Buy regular cases in bulk, switch out the DVD and cover art, and then toss the eco-case.
The industry is more worried about how much plastic goes into the cases, than the quality of the plastic. I just got a DVD of TINY TUNES ADVENTURES for my kids. The case is so skeletonized, the paper cover insert provides most of the disc protection. Gotta love those Enviros; they're likely in...
As your cousin, ScottRE said, the problem was widespread with the Scanavo brand of disc cases. So, that's the one to avoid. I haven't looked for cases identical to the clear, flipper-disc that comes in the Fugitive Box Set. Though I'm not a chemist, I suspect the trouble is based on the fact...
I admit I'm snake-bit after experiencing cases that off-gas, but I'm suspicious of the slight, greasy film inside these FUGITIVE cases. A careful dry wiping of the inside of the cases with clean, microfiber cloths may be all that's necessary...and then a periodic inspection to see if the film...
Having learned the hard way by the disc cases for HAVE GUN WILL TRAVEL, Fugitive Box Set owners might wish to periodically check the discs in each of the four multi-disc cases. You may notice some slight "haze" or "film" on the plastic inside the front and back covers and on the spindle-pages...
I'm still puzzled by ScottRE's 2012 Box Set having no defective discs and having received it as a Christmas gift. Excellent news, but a puzzlement. I wonder if he has the discs with the little silhouette? THAT would indicate replacements. However, if the discs are all identical, then...
Exactly. They take up no extra space. But I must tell you, I suggest playing the defective discs on several machines before tossing them out or using them as coasters. The lip-sync problem remains the same on all players, but the FF/REWIND/SKIP works fine on five of the eight players I tested...
I just noticed something... There are two empty places for discs in all but the 4th Season case. The new replacement discs can be stored in the proper season cases, on those spindles without discarding the original discs. The silhouette on the new discs can prevent confusing the old with the...
When there was a replacement program for the half-season FUGITIVE's (100 years ago :D), they told me they were only allowed to send one replacement per name & address. I had two sets, so my brother sent for the second one. We had to mail in the little Proof of Purchase tabs. I don't see why CBS...
Replacement discs arrived today...shrinked-wrapped in sleeves together and with a special label in the design of the Box graphic listing each episode. FIRST CLASS CUSTOMER SERVICE. :drum:
HAPPY 2013 TO ALL!
John, it's most likely that none of the current 2012 Fugitive Box Sets will have the replacement discs inside since the replacement discs have not arrived in the mail to Box Set purchasers.
I would hope that CBS is simply unloading their backlog of half-season original discs...and when that stock runs out, the new half-season packaging will contain the same half-season discs that make up the 2012 Box Set. But, then again, I still believe in the Tooth Fairy.
I would also be wary...
I hate to be a dog in the manger, but there's nothing on the Amazon listing that indicates the Box Set now being offered includes replacement discs. The Seller is Electronica Direct and is simply fulfilled by Amazon. Neither is there anything in the Seller's recent Feedback to indicate a...
AGAIN? Heck, we've yet to receive an official definitive answer even once.
If it's a long, cold Winter, I'm sure someone will take the 2011 Box Set, the 2012 Box Set, and the 2012 Replacement discs and spend a couple of weeks writing the "Fugitive Background Music Bible" and have...
There are fewer tracks than the original soundtrack CD release (2000).
The 2012 bonus CD has 17 tracks (46:57 minutes)...the original has 24 tracks (47:18 minutes).
Maybe during the next snowstorm, I'll compare each track.
Meanwhile, I suspect the longer tracks on the new CD are superior...
This TV show was so excellent, I'll gladly hang a Cross around my neck, grab some garlic in one hand and the DVD remote in the other, and settle back in the lounge chair to enjoy all 120 episodes.
