HTF Warner Tv/Animation Chat 9/15/08 - summary - to be updated live

Not quite the reveal from last year on the DC front---last year we learned about AQUAMAN and GALACTIC GUARDIANS sets. Its disappointing that they couldn't reveal any upcoming DC sets in the works (except another SuperFriends in January), but it is definitely nice to know that they "plan to...

The 9/18 DVD Chat By WB

Why don't the mods here just make a STICKY about the chat so people can stop making new threads asking when the chat is going to be and referencing specific titles. Also, isn't it on the 15th?

    Warner Bros Filmation shows?

I thought Warner cheaped out on the packaging on this one. i've never seen a clear keep case, heck even the picture at amazon show's a black keep case. Although I prefer the keepcases to those cardboard thing's we've been getting for years. I havent' watched the episodes yet, but the...

    What's next for BCI?

Well, go figure, I'm bummed that the "later Superfriends" underperformed. Hopefully that's not why there's been a huge break since the last release (Although Filmation's DC Guest Heroes just came out). Well, I guess at least we can say a lot of those series didn't get canceled in the middle...

    What's next for BCI?

Well, that's certianly good news. Can't say I'd buy a 4 disc compilation just to get one disc I want. Good news for those who will, though! One dude complained in an Amazon review of one of the Super Heroes sets that there was nothing new. He'll probably be all over this one. I wonder how or...

Bad News: Farscape DVD's Placed on Moratorium?

seasons two through four are still out there, but season 1 is pretty much impossible to find at a reasonable price. this is so odd, its just like E:FC, the best season isn't available =/

    Superfriends

They also have the 2nd half of All New Superfreind Hour (which would make sense to be the next release.) Volume one will presumably have 8 of the 15 21-minute episodes and 24 of the 45 7-minute shorts. The ad/boxart said 32 episodes, so thats what I'm guessing.

    Superfriends

16 epsiodes x 42 minutes? It would be more expensive? I'm sure they'll get to it eventually. But I personally hope it's after the remaining latter stuff :)

    Superfriends

The All New Superfreinds Hour Season 1 Vol 1 is coming out next week! The descriptions of the special features at tvshowsondvd sound nice. I recently got LEGENDARY SUPER POWER SHOW, SUPER POWERS TEAM: GALATIC GUARDIANS and the Filmation Aquaman series for Christmas, it's fun to watch these...

    What's next for BCI?

Ah, well at least you guys released it knowing that they wouldn't do great? Thats more than most companies would do I think, does that mean the extras are rather thin on these sets? Oh well.

    Warner Bros Filmation shows?

To the studios: STOP HOLDING TV ON DVD HOSTAGE!

I thought stores only accept defective (or unopened) product? Would a consumer intentionally cause a defect and then take it back? Or are stores just dumb and don't check what's getting returned?

To the studios: STOP HOLDING TV ON DVD HOSTAGE!

That's just as illegal, as you pointed out. Nobody's arguing ethics/morals here (I don't think?).

Looney Tunes Golden Collection Volume 5

That would be a real shame. I might as well stop buying them if they plan to not release the classics (jones, freleng, mckimson) and give us loads of bosko and buddy.

To the studios: STOP HOLDING TV ON DVD HOSTAGE!

This doesn't really fly with me---what gives you the right to own said property? Maybe you are giving the STUDIOS no choice, but to not bother with titles because they get pirated so easily? You can do what you want with bootlegs, but its still 100% illegal (even if money's not involved, yes...

Looney Tunes Golden Collection Volume 5

Are they really going to release EVERYTHING? I'll pass on the Bosko + Buddy sets. I hope the next two have a McKimson and Jones disc respectively. It does seem like the last few sets have had a lot of older toons.

Looney Tunes Golden Collection Volume 5

Those are the ones I care about mostly. The day they put out a set with 60 B&W Bosko & Buddys are the day I stop ordering em. :D
  28. tjguitar85

Looney Tunes Golden Collection Volume 5

That's the most obvious reason. Warner considers it a TV title. Sony llkely doesn't.

Looney Tunes Golden Collection Volume 5

Apples and oranges. 7 minute cartoons are not feature-lenth movies.
